"My room had such a beautiful view and was very comfortable. The staff were great. The location is a short walk to the museum, shops, and port. I hope to stay at Variante again soon. One thing: if you are arriving from the metro (Konak Station) you will walk up very steep hills to get to the hotel. It is a good workout!"

"Always a Pleasure to Stay
I first stayed here for business, as it was the hotel chosen by my company — but I’ve been coming back for my personal trips ever since. The staff are genuinely attentive and professional, the service is excellent, and the rooms are very comfortable. The location couldn’t be more central. Overall, it offers service and quality well above its price range. Highly recommended."

"The Swissotel still is a reference in Izmir. The location is unbeatable, lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are spacious, elegant and squeaky clean. Beds are very comfortable."

"Deva Evleri was a lovely place. Rooms were very clean & spacious. Kitchen amenities were great as was the tv and lounge area of the living space. Only beef is poor lighting, dead light bulbs in lamps. We had to use our phones to cook food in the evenings.
Ideally situated we walked everywhere and did all our food shopping within a 5 min walking radius around the place. The main bazaar, boardwalk, clock towers were all within walking distance. Tour pickup point was also a 3 minute walk. So...

"Good property to stay in, close to the sea where you can have nice walks and restaurants and food options. Rooms are small and need to improve cleanliness."

"I stayed for three nights on business. This was my first time in Izmir and I'm glad I booked at the Swissotel. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was outstanding. I think this was the best spread of breakfast items I have seen in Turkey during my travels. I didn't have a chance to access the pool, but the grounds were beautiful and it had been warmer I would have spent some time outside by the pool.
The immediate vicinity didn't have a lot of restaurant options, but if you walk north and then go left at the first stoplights, you can enjoy a nice walk down a market street and then at the end of the market street is where you will see a lot of great shops and restaurants. I grabbed a great dinner and some baklava, which was vacuumed sealed so I could take it back to Canada.
This hotel is close to the water and only a 15 minute walk from the famous huge market in Izmir, which seemed to stretch on forever (I almost got lost).
If I visit Izmir again, I will definitely book this hotel if the price is right!"
"If you are visiting Izmir (Smyrna) for its historic significance, this is the hotel for you. It is across the street from the historic Agora site that is well worth visiting, with artifacts and buildings and arches dating from the time of Alexander the Great. It is also located in the middle of the historic market/bazaar Kemeralti Market, an adventure, delicious and lots of fun. This area feels totally removed from modern, commercial business center Izmir. The staff is amazing and goes beyond most hotel concierge staffs globally in patiently arranging tours and places to explore, both in Izmir and the surrounding area. I particularly want to thank Romeo for his extraordinary help in arranging tours for me and also rescuing me when I got lost. He loves his city and it shows! The justifiably famous Turkish breakfast had many delicious hot and cold choices, all freshly prepared and replenished as needed. My only criticism was the constant smoking in the dining room restaurant. The food was excellent, as was the live band, but you're surrounded in a miasma of smoke."
"Everything was excellent, location of this hotel was perfect for our stay. My only black point was the lack of a tour desk or concierge advise for tourist information. I wanted a last minute reservation for a tour, front desk staff wanted to help me and offered me a 250 euros tour per person, I went outside and on travel & tour agency got a 110 euros per person, same tour and maybe more vip than expected in the hotel. Please try to be more helpful and defend tourist from scammers. Also taxis are rude and non trustful. "
