Disliked: Room comfort
Candles, potpourri, and CATS
I have allergies & asthma. I knew after 15 minutes on site that I couldn’t sleep there. There were candles burning in the foyer, multiple bowls of potpourri, and multiple cats coming and going from outdoors—upstairs and downstairs. I’m very allergic to cats. Had I known these things prior to booking, I never ever would have booked—much less for 2 nights. They did extinguish the candles, but my throat was already thickening. My daughter returned inside and retrieved our luggage. We didn’t ask for our money back as it was a busy weekend in town with the Polar Express train ride kickoff and I felt bad for them to lose the business. BUT the booking information should include a note about candles, potpourri and CATS.
I had a very relaxing overnight at the Fig Tree Manor. I was immediately welcomed to the house and shown to my gorgeous and comfortable room. There are multiple covered porches and a patio area by the pool. The house is beautifully decorated and stuffed with antiques - it was like walking into a museum. The living room is open for use by all guests and has comfy couches and chairs, shelves of books to read, and coffee, tea and water is available at all times. Morning breakfast was delicious and kept me full until dinner. There is a huge selection of movies available to steam in addition to all the regular options. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance. I arrived a stranger and left feeling like family.
The owners of this B & B were very gracious. This property is beautiful. Unfortunately my friend was highly allergic to cats. They rescue cats and had several living in the home. They have promised a refund and were helpful in finding us other accommodations. Will try to go again without my friend. Lol
The interior was very interesting and unique. The rooms wwere spaciousus and neat and clean. We had our own sitting room with TV. The tub in the bath was an old claw foor tub but I am getting to old to try to handle getting in and out of that kind of tub safely. That was OK for this weekend because the weather was nice and going one night without a bath was OK.
My husband and I loved our stay at Fig Tree Manor. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had whatever we needed. Our room was wonderful. AND-the breakfast was delicious. We will stay here again next time we are in Palestine.
