Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Grand Rapids, MN
4/10 Poor
"This hotel had a water main break 5 months ago and the hotel is a disaster. There is no carpet on the first floor, the pool and amenities don’t work and they can only serve a minimal breakfast. Simple things like an ice machine which has nothing to do with the water main break didn’t work. I’m amazed this hotel is allowed to be open given the conditions. Our room was clean so at least that felt safe."
"It was quite obvious the owner does not fix the little things. The bathroom door does not shut. Neither sink had a working drain plug, had to go under the sink to manually open the drain. Exhaust fan grill in the bathroom has not been cleaned in a while. Water was not soft. In-room coffee was very bad, probably really old.
Realistically, this room should have rented for no more than $89/night. Just my thoughts."
"This is an older hotel, clean and mostly in good repair.
The rooms are large, and have full-sized refrigerators...a welcome change from the "mini refrigerators" that cannot hold a 12 pack.
Some rooms have a nice view of a lake, there is a dock and benches to sit and watch the view.
Staff is on site and friendly; it seems to be family-owned...we liked the chance to help local people.
Lots of parking and close to anything one might need.
We would not hesitate to stay there again."
"Everything is like brand new. Couldn’t ask for any more.
Staff at check in last night and check out this morning were top notch. Very friendly folks. Great place to stay. "
"The breakfast was just carbs. No eggs, or bacon, or sausage. It was a let down. We also a city wide cable disruption. The pool was warm and nice. The hot tub was burning hot. "
"Very nice place - just starting out for Summer. Very clean and staff were perfect. Only issues were maybe not having hotel rooms ready: TV did not work in room, coffee not out at 8AM in morning (no pot in room), etc. Bar and food were nice to have. Lake access was questionable as hotel stay apparently could not dock boat - cabled off to villa owners/renters only??? Maybe would be nice to inform people staying in advance how to access lake, what is up with TV, etc. I would come back some day."
