"I stayed at Papagayo for 4 days with a group of six friends. Check-in was seamless, and thankfully, the concierge escorted us to our room. Since I was the one who selected the hotel, I made it a point to check out everyone’s rooms, and overall, they were very nice. The only thing I didn’t completely love was navigating the cobblestone walkways with a suitcase and while wearing heels, but we made it work. Cleanliness: 6/10 This was one area where there was definitely room for improvement. Upon closer inspection, housekeeping could have done a more thorough job before our arrival. There were greasy fingerprints on the cabinets, mirrors, and other surfaces that should have been wiped down. The couches also had very noticeable stains—so noticeable that I chose not to sit on them during my stay. The ironing board could also benefit from routine inspection and cleaning when needed. Comfort: 9/10 The comfort level was excellent. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and I slept very well throughout the trip. A few things worth noting: * Face towels are not automatically provided; you’ll need to request them from the front desk. * Air conditioning is connected to the doors and windows. If a door or window is left cracked open, the AC will shut off. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way and ended up having one very uncomfortable night. * If you’re visiting from the U.S., you’ll need an adapter for your phone and electronics.
