Lovely stay

Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Room was gorgeous and very spacious. Hotel was gorgeous, breakfast tasty. Nice touch having a tunnocks tea cake and wafer in the room. Wish we could have stayed for a second night.

The hotel was very warm throughout and there was a plentiful supply of hot water for bath/showers. We were in an executive king size room and it was very spacious and decorated and furnished to a high quality.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel and good staff. I has to ask for the heating to be put on both days, but in fairness they did straight away. Buffet style breakfast was disappointing.

Would stay again!

Even though this is a beautiful wedding venue, we had a wonderful, quiet stay while there were 2 lovely weddings occurring during that time. All staff were so friendly, the meals and drinks in the restaurant were fabulous! Our first trip to Scotland (from Canada) and we would definitely book here again, as it is so close to the train/rail system, and is a central location between glasgow and Paisley (where my husband's relatives are from). Absolutely loved the charm of this historical hotel!

Little disappointed

Attended for a wedding and the wedding day was absolutely fantastic as a venue. Great comfy bed and clean room. Very poor shower pressure and had to ask for various items not supplied ( bottle opener, glasses for mini bar) remote control for tv didn’t work and tv reception very poor. Would have expected better toiletries and robe for an executive room. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Check in was a good experience. Rooms nice. Toilet paper a bit rough! Very disappointed the downstairs bar was shut at 9.30, even though staff were still around and we were asked to go up to the meeting room bar and order there. Unfortunately that bar had a more limited selection of drinks, so no real ales. As the target evening event was a Burns supper for Engineers, this was a bit poor planning. They also closed the main bar at 12.30, losing even more revenue. The breakfast was good, but no tattie scones! Car parking was also good.

This is a very upscale property without the upscale price. We loved our room overlooking the garden. The room was quiet. Breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly. The town center is very close and easy to walk to.
