"Beautiful hotel. Rooms beautifully designed and appointed, comfortable bed and large plush towels. Bar and restaurant were lovely. Staff was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay here and will return"
"We stayed three nights over Easter at Capelongue, just one day after opening for the season—and unfortunately, it showed throughout.
Check-in was poorly managed. We arrived at 12:30 with a pre-confirmed early check-in, yet no one could tell us when the room would be ready. We were sent to lunch (which was good), but even at 15:10 the room was still not available. When we pointed out that Expedia listed check-in from 15:00, we were told it was actually 16:00. We were eventually given the room shortly after, but the process felt disorganised.
We booked a Deluxe Terrace but were given what seemed to be one of the smallest in that category, in the older part of the hotel. No seating area as shown in photos, visible dust, and a terrace next to the parking with a loud AC unit running constantly. It’s hard not to wonder whether booking via Expedia influenced the room allocation.
Service lacked consistency: pool towels not cleared or set up properly, pool water not very clean, and empty glasses left around. Basic standards were missing.
On the positive side, the food was good and restaurant service attentive, and the property is visually appealing. Overall, however, the experience fell short. Would return, but not at the start of the season."
"Based on the attractive photos posted in the property listing, I thought I was getting a great off-season deal at a nice golf resort. Upon arrival, however, I immediately realized I had been misled. The property is seriously dilapidated and looks nothing like the pictures.
The bathroom in the room was the worst. Not only was there a very unpleasant stench of sewer coming from the shower drain, but there was also mold throughout the bathroom, which is clearly a health hazard.
The only positive aspects were the spacious room and the free parking.
I strongly recommend staying away from this place until it has been fully renovated. In its current condition, it is simply not worth the money."
"Lovely hotel even in winter! Clean and comfortable
rooms. Staff excellent very helpful. The spa is a treat especially the steam room. Delicious wines and salads. This is a special place. "
