The Grange on Calgan Farm is placed on beautiful grounds with views over the Kalgan River. It is very quiet and relaxing, however, even though it is advertised as pet and child friendly the host is not particularly friendly towards dogs and children. We had a lovely time in Albany, and spent hardly any time at the Grange, with two adults, two teenage children and a labrador, expecting a dog friendly place, as it was advertised, but did not feel welcome with our dog. The host was extremely critical of the additional dog hair inside, even though we were very conscious of it and swept the living and bed room ourselves before departure and clean human hair in the shower. I was under the impression that service was included and if a place is advertised as pet friendly that extra pet hair is to be expected. Instead of addressing the issues for future guests the host is now complaining to me through text messaging, be warned.
