There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. And believe everything you read in reviews about the breakfast buffet. OMG — literally 50 choices Rooftop restaurant and poolside bar were great. And SOOO close to wonderful sights in Heraklion, like the archaeology museum and the ancient technology museum and the Venetian fort. The staff are wonderful too...
