Gurney Bay Hotel, A PARKROYAL PARTNER HOTEL

Gurney Bay Hotel, A PARKROYAL PARTNER HOTEL

10/10 Excellent
"All is very good except 1st morning on 11 Aug where buffet breakfast was chaotic with massive of guests. Tables unavailable and food not topped up fast enough. Love the local nutmeg juice served at the lobby daily, which we never will try if not for the hotel effort. Thank you. "

"The staff were very helpful and kind. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the swimming pool was well maintained. The breakfast buffet was also very good, with a nice variety of food. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel."

Penang Marriott Hotel

Penang Marriott Hotel

8/10 Good
"Overall, we had a good stay at Penang Marriott Hotel, and I would rate the experience four stars. Our arrival experience, however, was not particularly impressive. There was no welcome amenity or special recognition, and we were initially informed that our Expedia Platinum status was not recognized by the hotel. After speaking with one of the managers, the situation was handled more professionally, and we were kindly given access to the M Club, which we appreciated and found to be a fair and acceptable solution. We are thankful to the manager for taking the time to listen and assist us. There were also a few service-related issues during the stay. On our first night, the room phone rang at around 10:00 PM, which disturbed our sleep and was quite inconvenient at that hour. In addition, staff knocked on our door every afternoon to check whether we needed anything. While we understand that this was intended as a thoughtful service gesture, having it happen every day became somewhat intrusive and occasionally disturbed our privacy and relaxation. Aside from these points, the hotel itself was comfortable and the M Club access certainly improved our overall experience. With a more polished arrival process and a little more attention to guest privacy and quiet hours, the stay could easily have been a five-star experience."

Eastern And Oriental Hotel

Eastern And Oriental Hotel

8/10 Good
"This iconic hotel is well located and within walking distance to restaurants and tourist spots and where we stayed at the Victory Annex - fantastic sea views from the suites. Of course the super hot weather would probably deter most people from walking any where and a grab ride costs just a few bucks in your choice of car. The suites are big, ours faced the sea and we had a balcony which made for catching the first light a pleasure when we woke up each morning. The ceilings of the rooms were spectacularly high and the bathroom was almost too big. Really liked the "his and hers" sinks separated by a walk way (so i could clutter mine and hubby could keep his minimalist :D). The breakfast at Sarkies - lots of variety, our favourites were the individually fried plates of char kway teow and the roti canai with your choice of fillings. I would stay again just for the breakfast. Then why 4 stars - for some reason, we could get the AC the temperature we wanted - it was either too cold or not cold enough. Prob our user error. The bath - when we ran the water, it wasn't clear...? The shower was great though. Would i stay again - maybe - we might try the heritage wing to compare. But definitely give it a go - the hotel runs really good deals and includes breakfast and that already makes all the difference."
