"We really appreciated the fact that we could check in early and also the breakfast was great. Upon checking in, we were told that the room had a kitchen area with a large fridge, but no stove (which was fine - we weren't cooking anyways), but what was strange was there was no bathroom sink or mirror in the bathroom. To get ready in the morning you had to use the kitchen sink and the mirror in the room was about 3' feet away from the sink."
"Hot breakfast was AWESOME. Had trouble with the key card would not open the door. Staff tried with different cards, no luck.
Staff reset the system everything worked. Still was frustrating.
Overall ADEQUATE. 3.5- 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"Clear Lake is one of our hometowns and we have stayed here several times visiting.
It is the only place to stay right on the lake (other than a VRBO, etc.).
All the rooms face the lake, with a balcony or patio. Ground floor has fenced patios, with more space, it would be nice if the fence had a gate/opening, to get to the dock/bar without walking through the interior hallway (or through the other rooms’ patios).
The rooms/bathrooms are nice but could benefit from a little updating. Nothing terrible, they are clean and functional, just starting to show their age. Clothing storage is at a premium. There is one hanging wardrobe, with a few shelves and a bookcase type set of shelves, but no dresser. There is an undercounter cabinet for storage in the coffee maker/refrigerator area. The older, through-the-wall AC units seem to struggle to keep the rooms cool and dehumidified. However, we have always stayed in during late June/July/early August so, not sure about other times of the year.
Friendly/helpful staff, but small inn, so small staff. Usually one person covers desk, does laundry, etc. Don’t expect 24/7 service like at a chain hotel. The attached restaurant/bar has a nice menu and drink selection. They even had vegan options, which can be hard to find in smaller Midwestern towns. Parking is tight in the small lot for the inn and restaurant/bar, but it always seems to work out.
Overall, happy with our stays and will stay again."
"The rooms were clean but the daily refresh of he room (stayed 4 nights)was limited. I had fresh towels everyday but garbage was not taken out day to day, Kleenex was not refilled after running out, paper coffee cups were not replenished day to day. the bed spread and blankets were pulled up but the bed was not "made". These are all something we are used to from other hotels but was not a "requirement"."
"I had a wonderful stay here! The property is very clean on the outside, and inside, the excellent service started right away with a super friendly front desk staff. All of the common areas including the lobby and halls were immaculate. Best of all, they are pet-friendly! The guest room and bathroom were pristine, cozy, and exceptionally clean. I will definitely be back."
