Oros Luxury Beach Resort

"We had a fabulous time at Oros Resort. The staff, especially, were universally fantastic โ warm, friendly and professional and could not do enough for us. Even though it caters to families, it is also a great romantic couples resort. With separate pools for families and adults and a lot of space it always feels calm, quiet and relaxed. The resort is finished to a very high standard and is very well thought out. The rooms are excellent. The resortโs part of the beach is the best on Episkopi โ soft sand and, again, great attentive staff who are always on the lookout for things they can do for you. The one observation I would make is the resort is a long way on foot from a town and, although there are beach bars and tavernas along the beach, they are spread out, with often a fair distance between. The resort restaurants are great but if you want to find local tavernas outside be prepared for a 30 minute walk. All the tavernas between Georgioupoli and Petres could do with a shuttle bus to move people around. A special shout out for the restaurant Yaku which was amazing. We were initially surprised by the idea Nikkei cuisine in Crete but it was truly beautiful and, again, all the staff were brilliant. Chef Nikos Skamnakis is a master!"

"The most picturesque hotel! The grounds are beautiful. The pool area is really relaxing, perfect for a late afternoon dip after being out exploring or at the beach. The staff were all really lovely and helpful too. Breakfast is one the biggest perks. A huge range of options with some really delicious traditional options. We stayed in the Aquila suite which was situated right at the other end of the compound where there is only one other room. This was great for us as it was really private! The majority of the rooms are either near the pool area, or to the east of the restaurant. We also had dinner at the restaurant one of the nights and can confirm it was delicious and very fresh ingredients. The only โconโ I would say is it is quite remote. This hotel would be perfect for people who are either looking to stay at the hotel for the majority of the day, or donโt mind doing 1+ hour car trips. Itโs 1.5 hours to Chania or Heraklion, 1 hour to the beaches in the south, and 2+ hours to Agios Nikolaos. We found being in the car so much had a negative impact on our holiday overall. However, highly recommend going to Rethymno old town! Roughly 30 mins from the hotel, and some great restaurants and shops. Overall itโs a beautiful hotel, and if you donโt mind the remoteness/driving quite a bit then we would highly recommend!"

"You cannot fault this hotel. The rooms were bright,spacious and the beds were oh so comfortable. There was a wide and varied choice of food. But I think what stands out the most was the exceptional staff. Their customer service was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. They were flexible and helpful. I would especially like to mention both Lisa Smith in guest services and Despina who was serving in the water park bar. Both went out of their way to be kind, helpful and extremely friendly. I would also like to mention the new water park. The variety of slides appeals to all ages and the splash pad is excellent for smaller guests. Overall we had a fantastic stay."

"Well thought out for families, still allowing sufficient space for privacy/quiet time for a couple with only child. Lots of activities and areas for our child to make friends. Excellent food, all the staff (particularly the unsung service heroes) were superb. A wonderful experience. Book any restaurant meals as early as possible!"

"Rooms were large and clean. The staff were great and did all they could to make our stay memorable. The pool was great and the food was excellent, breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very well done. The only caveat to that was the Tomatini restaurant which to our surprise was a little disappointing. This part of the island flies under the radar and is an absolute gem."

"We love the royal blue. Itโs our third visit to this resort and it doesnโt disappoint. This sister hotel next door royal senses is also great and has water slides which is fun for the family. The beach is also really lovely and great for snorkelling and swimming."
