"Night reception didn't know where rooms were so took us the longest, most complicated way to the rooms. Once there rooms were on different floors.

We booked a "Sea View" room, paying extra to ensure we could look directly out onto the ocean, as advertised. However, upon arrival, our room faced a building, and we could only see the sea by looking to the side, which was far from the expectations set by the photos associated with our room category. "Stayed as a family of 4 for 9 days in mid August 2025, 2 adults and 2 children.
Positives:
Remote hill top location in Old Town Malia (10/10).
Villas with private 10m to 15m length pools (10/10).
Overall the teams were very helpful and did their best to support.
Amazing views of Malia from your balcony from the hill top location (10/10).

New lady in the restaurant from Romania, Male supervisor / manager who helped us after we got locked out of the villa with 2 keys at night.

Met the new owner at dinner whilst the teams were stressfully trying to work out our bill for a new menu and he said he his aware of what they need to improve on and service is not were he wants it to be.
Negatives:
Attention to detail I.e. 1 bed was missing its top cover for the first 3 nights.
Very easy to lock yourself out of the villa because of the safety feature on the doors.
Service in the restaurant needs to be improved / missed opportunity from the hotel due to isolated location.
Catering options are very limited / Menu cards are confusing / Not clear what you have ordered and what you are paying for.
Nightly disturbances from staffing quarters into the early morning (stayed in villa 407).
No locks on the bathroom or toilet doors.
Hot water in the tap & shower is extremely boiling hot.
Toilet / Shower room on the lower floor in the 2 bedroom villas should have a solid divider as water gets everywhere."
"Excellent place to stay. All the staff are excellent and very friendly. Special thanks to the Manager who put a fan in the second room as it was quite hot at night. Also the young French lady working at reception and the bar for being so welcoming on our arrival. "
"Nice facility and very friendly reception and bar staff however, dim/no lighting especially in bathroom had to use our phone torches, rock solid beds, limited utensils with no soap or sponge to wash up so lack of cleanliness aswell as only changing sheets and towels once during a 7 nights stay.

"This was a quaint comfy stay! The owner has put a lot of love and attention into the property, and it was really cool to see what it was before she did all the work. She did a great job fixing it up! The breakfast is delicious and very generous!
The only minor thing was there wasn’t any WiFi. It is a somewhat remote location so that’s understandable. Overall a great stay and if you’re looking for an authentic Greek experience this is it! "

Manis and his staff was perfect. I got help with whatever I needed and whatever I didn’t understand as an English only speaker, they were quick to translate and explain.This trip was my first time in Europe and I felt very safe as a solo traveler. I slept with my balcony door open because it was so cool and I never needed the a/c. Yes there is a charge for usage but it was not needed during my stay. Breakfast was good with a lot of options. I would recommend a stay here and I will definitely be back next year. "
