"only issue there was is the ac did not get very cold. i set the temperatre to 64 degrees, which is the coldest setting, and the room felt like 70 degrees. also not a big deal unless you arriveing on a late flight, office hours are only 9-5, checking in after 5 is an issue"
"Have kitchenette, microwave, full fridge, ocean views, onsite laundry facilities, close- by walking distance nearby golf park
no elevator, limited space parking besides street parking overflow, well lit, on duty security, swimming pool, relaxing atmosphere, near public beach- park, nice paved walking path to famous community walking Liliuokalani park, excellent bedding, free wifi, nice, beautiful Hilo hotel very cozy, safe and comfortable, friendly staff"
"The hotel is located on the beach. It has great amenities like a gym and an onsite location. While we stayed, the hotel was in transition with work and you had to summon the elevator via calling front desk who would radio the employee in the elevator. I don’t know if that is a long term inconvenience although the front desk made it work relatively seamlessly.
There is no room service feature and the valet parking service was not operating during our stay. I would have liked to have a deck to sit out and watch the sunset. Again, not sure if this is construction-related.
Overall, the stay was comfortable. It’s located close to the airport and as stated earlier, it’s on the beach."
"Mahana House is a gorgeous space where seemingly everything has been thought about and tended to. The hosts are kind, gracious, and welcoming. They're as available as you need them to be, and when my mom and I were caught in a tropical storm and literally not even sure we'd make it to the inn, they were continuously available and responsible, without having electricity themselves. This is a truly beautiful, special place, and I hope to go back!"
"Nice old plantation style house with a beautiful yard and view of Hilo.
Staff was nice and helpful, even tho I arrived a day and a half late.
Very peaceful place to stay, with birds chirping in the morning and coqui frogs croaking at night."
"From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed. The room was great and spacious. It does get cold at night, but there is a portable heater in the room. The staff was literally a text away. I didn't want for anything. John was very pleasant and a joy to talk to. I will definitely put this on my hotels to stay at again."
