"Stay was during May-25 at the Akohara retreat in Ubud. On arrival greeted by staff with flower garland, drinks and local traditional dance. This is definitely a couples retreat. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. "This is how of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It’s gorgeous and very green - the property is expansive yet when you walk outside at the front you’re in a very busy, walkable area with many shopping and dining options. I liked the balance of the quiet and nature of the hotel combined with the walk ability and convenience to things. You can also walk to monkey forest area with tons of nightlife and restaurants. Lastly the staff was absolutely amazing. I would absolutely return here. "
