Hawk Mountain is one of my favorite locations near my parents' home. If you enjoy walking, hiking, beautiful views, birds, and maybe a little scrambling over rocks, Hawk Mountain is a must-see. I have tried to visit Hawk Mountain every fall--which is the migration period for a lot of hawks and eagles--so that I can climb to the top in the not-too-warm weather and overlook the region. It's absolutely beautiful. Be sure to bring snacks and water! You are literally in the sticks when you go on these hikes and it's not easy to just "run back to the car."
Easy gravel trail. Great for entire family, but steep incline. There’s a harder trail option equipped with some boulders to climb up for those who like the challenge. Dogs welcome.
