Ideal position. Staff were lovely. Comfy beds. Room needed renovation. Iron burn on carpet. Bath panel had a hole in and was water damaged at the bottom. The iron didn't work and the ironing board was damaged. Electrical switch under TV not attached to wall.

Feels tired for a standard room. Air conditioning not working and on floor 6 the shower pressure was very poor. Breakfast is good but food in the bar is mediocre . I had fish and chips.

Friendly & staff

Really friendly staff, would have been 5 stars but my door card didn’t work when I checked in and I had to go back to reception where a very friendly young man apologised and sorted me out immediately, he was a credit to the hotel.

Staff lovely. Public areas are modern and clean. Corridors (carpet), and rooms, are tired. Cracked plastic round basin spongy, probably rotten underneath. Bath panel MDF affected by the water, walls, chairs, carpet marked. Clean but a bit tatty.

Great hotel! Recommend!

We were given room 1 on ground floor which was huge, as its a wheelchair room, but we were elated! Breakfast really good, loads of choice, nice outdoor space to eat and drink too. Very pleasantly surprised.

A good place to stay in the area

Greeted nicely at reception and the checking in and out process was fine. The room itself was also good, nice and spacious. The bar/restaurant area looked dilapidated, (the ceiling was gone and all pipes/conduits etc were visible). Food was served, but we had to ask for cutlery?

It was fine until I got up in the morning to have a shower and the water from the shower was cold . I was very disappointed. The manager was however apologetic.

Room fine except totally overheated - could not get the temperature down even with the window open and the thermostat on 16 (lowest setting). No fan despite notice saying there was. Car parking is tight but the real problem was we had to park under the trees - the bird mess was incredible and not easy to get sorted out away from home. Still scrubbing.....
