"I had a twin en-suite. Which I’m grateful for. En suite was well appointed, appears recently refurbished and clean. Room also was nice. Check in routine is odd. Don’t bother turning up short while before the allotted check in time. You will just be corralled and kept in the bar - where strangely you have to check in, instead of the hotel itself - until 3pm check in. Which is really awakeard if you have large bulky luggage. I saw a number of other confirmed or prospective guests visibly annoyed about lack of [getting] service up in the hotel reception area. And you’ll likely feel obliged to buy a drink or two. Also, don’t believe if you are told you won’t hear the music from the basement bar because “rooms aren’t directly over the bar”. You will. Until 1am, most nights. (For reference I was room 3, lowest one on stairwell). But Staff are friendly and helpful enough though which is always nice. And Oban as a location always helps offset these accommodation oddities to some degree. "

"The location and parking were good. Room was a little on the small side. Would have been nice to have some net curtains on the ground floor to give some privacy from vehicles and pedestrians walking past whilst still being able to enjoy the view from the room. No comfortable seating in public areas. Good choice of breakfast options. "

"Nice staff and rooms, but the communal parts of the property are quite dated. The pool wasn’t open during our stay due to heating issues which we were emailed about a week before but by then we had already booked excursions from Isle of Mull, ferries and travelled from far so it was too late for us to change all of this and we’d loose to much money. We were also surprised that you had to book a slot for the hot tub which was cleaned every other hour and completely emptied every three days according to maintenance man- this was extreme we felt as we have the exact same hot tub at home and have had for over 20 years and we have never been told we need to empty it every 3 days! The spa chill area behind the hot tub where you can sit inside and enjoy the view is also very small and there were several people walking in and out leaving the door to slam so hard, walking back and forth all the time to check the hot tub and it made for not so “chill” of a location so I just went back to my room. One thing I would like to say though is the massages were incredible. The two ladies that work there are extremely kind and skilled. I would definitely recommend getting treatments with them as it was certainly worth the money. "

"Beautiful view of the harbour located near the main road into town and very near Castle Dunollie,The rooms were clean and modern with vaulted celings and very comfortable beds however the elevator was abit clostrophobic, i would also encourage any Management reading to adjust the door tensioners so they close properly behind the guests and maybe look at the window fixings but break fast was great, haggis included and all staff friendly and hospitable, the parking was abit tight but found public car park close by next to very friendly small pub with live music which stayed open late,in all a lovely old building in a great location with friendly staff,thank you for your service "

"The hotel is very outdated and needs a total overhaul, the facilities left a lot to be desired. Parking was very haphazard and hazardous. "

"Ideal one night stopover for ferry from Oban. On the pier with patking at the railway station. Room is small but had everything we needed. Shops and restaurants nearby."
