The Colonial Motel

"I have stayed here a couple of times. It is a very safe and secure location. Parking is directly in front of the room so itโs convenient too. The room is always clean and the staff are very nice. The pillows are surprisingly comfortable as they are not typical hotel overstuffed pillows that make my neck hurt. I will definitely stay here again."

"Our stay started with an open door, food in the fridge and a trip to reception to make sure the room was not already occupied. We stayed in the room. The rooms seemed to be recently renovated, new AC systems, spacious, etc. so the accommodations were very nice. Biggest problem is the lighting is terrible and the room is very dark (paint, decorations, etc.), a bulb went out and one of the two light fixtures would not work. The fridge needed defrosting badly; we could not use the freezer. The next day they moved us to a suite and refunded a $40 activity fee (not sure what this additional fee was for; there were no activities, pool, etc.). The suite had lots of natural light, but again, not much light after dark. The glass shower door was off the track, but there was no handyman there that day. The bathroom sink is separate from the very tiny bathroom; there were no towel hooks or towel bars in the sink area. In the prior room there were two hooks in the sink area. Owners should live in these rooms for a night. We appreciated the upgrade; the fridge was in much better shape. The public rooms were very nice."

"My wife and I had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at the River Run Bed & Breakfast. Ben was a wonderful host. He was able to provide us with a lot of information on the area and help us with information on things to do in the area and on places to eat."

"Very cute and quiet place. It is literally down in the holler so we had no cell service or Internet. A connection was offered but said could be limited and we had no luck getting connected. If you don't mind being off grid you will love it. I certainly didn't!!!"

"The property and stay was great. The reason for four stars vs. five were the expectations. The descriptions and their Instagram oversells the place so you go expecting more. A little more transparency and marketing the property for its true self - it's a fantastic spot."

"Delightful. Brendan is a treasure. Comfortable sitting areas downstairs and porch was wonderful. It may be continental breakfast but lots of great options - you wonโt leave hungry. They have done a great job of preserving Victorian charm - woodwork and stained glass. This is now my go to bnb in the area."
