Highly recommend staying at Mvuvi if staying on the east side of the island! Staff was always attentive and made sure our stay was wonderful. Both restaurants were fantastic! It was easy to book all of our excursions through Mvuvi and made it super convenient. Overall, we had a fantastic stay.

Amazing hotel!

There were three of us who stayed here for 5 days over Christmas. Everything was fantastic, the food, the environment, the activities, the service. It was exactly what we were looking for and more. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you for a great vacation!

Brilliant a couldn’t have asked for more

Incredible service from the staff on every level was what made this place - as well as it being beautiful. Very quiet and relaxed, loved the food (most other restaurants couldn’t compete) and was impressed by the tours we did with them. The room was stunning and cleaned twice a day. A little bit of peace for a week was what we needed

This was my best hotel stay in Zanibar. The staff was great and the dining service was so delicious! You can dine at both hotels. The body scrub massage is a must. The rooms was very clean and quiet. They accommodated my coconut allergies by going out buying me body wash, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner.

I spent four relaxing days at Mvuvi Boutique Resorts in Kiwengwa, Zanzibar. The staff was amazing, the beach was beautiful, and the food was delicious. This is a great spot for unwinding after a safari or any other adventure. It was affordable and intimate. I also had one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Beyond a beautiful setting, the staff and service make Mvuvi very special. Everyone is kind and helpful — including the drivers they use. They use a WhatsApp group to inform you of opportunities and activities. And a direct WhatsApp to organize transfers and answer questions. The breakfasts are delicious. I also loved the salt water pool. I stayed on the beach lounge side of the property in room 16 (up stairs) my colleague stayed in the room below (12) that had convenient walk out. Both had sea view.

This was an amazing boutique property with pleasant and very helpful staff. With all that said, the only negative is the immediate area/neighborhood outside of the gate. The management should spend more to enhance the standard of the area and help the people living in that area. This would make it more inviting for guests like us who wanted to go fora walk the area.

This is the second time I visit Mvuvi (July 2023). On the positive side the new hotel is very nice especially the new swimming pool. The food is unfortunately not the same standard as last year and inconcistent. Sometimes very good and sometimes disappointing. The service is also too slow. I also believe the prices for excursions and watersports are too high. We did all activities outside of the hotel at much lower costs.

Amazing stay at Mvuvi. Very secluded (1h from Stonetown), intimate and private. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperative but we had a chance to enjoy the great food, the private beach and walk around the shore. I would probably chose to explore another area next time with more things to do around (not as secluded).

Beautiful scenic property. small boutique hotel that still has all you need. Chef customized our plant based meals every day and everyone was well-prepared and tasty. Staff are so helpful and kind. Watershoes being available are a big plus for the rocky areas of the beach. Only thing I missed was having a gym. Tried running on the beach but some folks try to sell you things and harass a little. They may be harmless but it’s awkward and hard to enjoy a run when you have to avoid those people. Otherwise we loved our stay there!

Grace and her staff made us feel very special during our entire stay. The intimate resort of 9 rooms exceeded our expectations. The food at every meal was outstanding..coming from foodies who run restaurants!! Every request was met with “yes..of course”. Caroline who manages the property proactively reach out in advance for car transfer service as well as organizing a snorkel excision day was perfect We could not have been happier with our experience. We will be back for sure!!!

Amazing small hotel with crazily good service.

This was a perfect boutique hotel - exceptionally pretty and with everything we were looking for. The rooms are just metres from the beach, the food is extremely good, and the team can't be beaten. Getting up at 3.50am to gift us fresh fruit for a trip was absolutely exceptional but in keeping with the service we received throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and they also went out of their way to make sure that they accommodated our (vegan) dietary requirements. Cannot recommend too highly.

Very small boutique resort in Kiwengwa which has direct access to the beach. The staff and service is exceptional and the dining and food was very delicious. The room is very rustic yet comfortable however it comes with minimal and basic amenities. My wife had two massages in the spa which were very relaxing. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a hotel in North East Zanzibar. The only minor hiccup was that I had purchased Half Board however, there was a miscommunication between Expedia and the Hotel and this issue was promptly resolved.

The property itself was beautiful and clean. The staff was very kind and helpfull whenever we had any request. There are many possibilities for trips. There is a variety for food and drinks. ATTENTION. If you book fullboard the drinks like soft drinks, water and cocktails are not included. Still everyday they provide a bottle of water. If you visit the beach there are many beach boys which try to sell you Accessoires and Trips. Nevertheless you have your own area on the beach which they cannot enter infront of the Hotel.

LOVED EVERYTHING!!!! It was a beautiful, natural property that felt like home. There were not too many rooms, so there were not too many guests, and we always felt comfortable. The rooms and outdoor spaces were all very naturally and tastefully done and were all cleaned multiple times per day. Everything always worked, was always clean, and everything was thought of in advance. A perfect example of this was that on the last day, when we were going to the airport (at 2:45am) Grace was awake to see us off, and the kitchen staff had packed our favorite breakfast for us (they even remembered what we liked)! We had only planned to stay there for 3 days, but extended our stay for 7 days because we loved it so much. Grace and Neema were wonderfully accommodating, arranging trips for us on short notice - and everyone they put us in contact with (drivers, tour guides, kite-surfing instructors) was extremely kind and generous. A special thank you also to Baracka, Fareeda, Veronica and Victoria for always being so accommodating and friendly. Vacation never felt like this before. In other places you still feel like you’re thinking of things, looking for things, feeling somehow not at home… This was the first time I’ve gone on a vacation and really understood the meaning of that word. No worries at all, hakuna matata.
