"I feel the Shantaa Resort is the best option on Koh Kood. The villas are amazing with great A/C, clean and comfortable. The pool was nice and the ocean view is rocky which isn't that big of a problem. The beach is 200 Meters to the left which is an easy walk. You can rent a scooter for 350 Baht for 24 hours to explore the Island & try other local restaurants. The food was great (not too overpriced) and the staff were all super friendly. I would definitely stay again!"

"Hanung, his staff, Fern, the owners and everyone was hospitable. Very friendly and made you feel like you're at home. The bungalows were very clean and the view to the ocean was amazing. I would recommend for anyone that wants a private setting or even family friendly setting this is the place. They can help you with motor bike rentals to finding you a nice relaxing massage on the beach. We went about 12 minutes on motor bike to a nice cozy restaurant called mangrove where the food was delicious...

"The room was spotless and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The AC is great! The resort is remote, which is great - but worth stocking up on sunscreen and snacks before you arrive. Also, the beach is stunning - starting to collect some garbage along the shore - but exquisite.
Overall, we loved it."

"This was my first time staying at Siam Beach Resort, and the journey there became part of the experience. After a short flight from Bangkok to Trat, I arrived at one of the most charming and quaint small airports I have seen in Thailand. Trat Airport has a relaxed, welcoming feel that immediately sets the tone for island travel.
From the airport, I took private transportation for the roughly 45-minute drive to the ferry landing. The road journey was sensational — smooth, well maintained, and passing through what felt like one of Thailand’s beautiful garden baskets, with lovely farms, Thai produce, lush trees, scattered residences, and a landscape that seemed set back in time.
By the time I reached the ferry, I could already feel life slowing down.
Siam Beach Resort continued that feeling. The resort has a simple, easygoing charm that fits Koh Kood perfectly. It is not overly polished or pretentious, but that is part of its appeal. The setting is peaceful, with direct beach access, calm water, and tropical surroundings that invite you to relax.
My room was clean and comfortable, with fresh linens and the basic amenities needed for a pleasant stay. The property has a casual, welcoming feel, and the staff were kind and helpful.
For travelers looking for a quiet beachfront location, good value, and an authentic island-style experience, Siam Beach Resort is a place I would gladly recommend — and happily return to."
"The hotel is horrendous. It's a misrepresentation of what is showed on Hotel.com. We stayed at this place for 3 days out of the 7 days. Whilst we activate our credit card for this part of the world. This was the worst stay in my entire life, I got a migraine from the lack of sleep due to mosquitoes coming into the room during the night. Mind you we had our windows and doors closed. Not to mention the AC water dripping on our heads whilst trying to sleep. They hotel reception check us in for a hillside room. This shack is in the forest next to a water swamp. Horrendous! Out of date with a rotting fridge and the room smelling of mold. Then they offered to upgrade us to a less horrible room where the AC dripped all of us, mosquitoes ate at us. For the 'upgrade' we had to pay for this SCAM! We checked out on the fourth day and never even got a refund.
Please Hotel.com revise your recommendation of this property. It's truly awful and a SCAM!!
Best wishes,
Stephanie"
"Staff are really friendly and happy to help with anything! Incredible views. Can hire a moped to get around the island from the hotel. Restaurant on the beach does good food and nice cocktails!"
"Our room was better than described and staff were genuinely kind and helpful. We were able to watch the sunset from our living room and our early morning ocean dip was only steps from ourfront door. Exquisite! Thank you!"
"Staff was not accommodating at all. Out of all of our stops in Thailand, this resort was by far the our least favourite and the least friendly. We had some sort of large rodent living in our attic that squealed and scratched most of the night and the resort staff told us they couldn’t do anything about “nature”."
"Comfortable accommodation, but according to the booking, it looks like a room with a pool. On arrival, it turns out that this only applies to a few units and the accommodation is without a pool."
