Great location even though I was having dinner in Warrnambool, warm friendly ambience, cheerful breakfast room where travellers meet and chat, my 4 th visit, great value for money!

It is great old school pub ! Welcoming feel. Friendly, genuine, attentive staff. Fantastic food - great pub grub ! We loved our room ( does not matter there was no ensuite), guest lounge - well appointed comfy!, Guest kitchen was clean - well appointed and it had great touches. The roaring fire in the public bar added to the welcoming feel, as did the nice alcoves to eat lunch - including the historic signs ( including old funny ones), pictures etc We will be going back for more. Thanks !

This hotel is left over from a bygone era. That said it contains a busy Irish themed pub, an equally well patronised dining room and the licensees are relaxed and friendly. Each room is uniquely furnished. No cookie cutter decor here! Bed was comfortable and the linen was fresh and smelled lovely. Ladies bathroom….did you get that? No ensuites in sight. The ladies is new and and showers are great. No elevator and the stairs are 19th century steep though very sturdy. The tv room seemed a bit uncomfortable with all the bits stored in it…no tv in room. bring your own device. The breakfast room has been refurbished in a pleasing manner although the ubiquitous clutter threatens to overtake….lucky that the ceilings are so high there is still a sense of spaciousness. All in all we were safe, comfortable, in clean rooms with windows that open and breakfast room available at all hours. Despite all the quirks I would return.

Great pub and food. Wasn’t aware of the shared bathroom facilities but that could have been my oversight. The beds were clean but the rest of the room was very dusty and run down. I would come back for a meal and a Guinness but wouldn’t stay over night again.

Mickey Bourke’s is a charming old style hotel/pub a short drive from Poet Fairy. Good pub food, a good vibe, friendly staff, a very comfortable bed. We loved it.

Staying at Mickey Bourke’s Hotel is a tremendously good experience. It has charm, history and warmth, including great food served in the dining area. Bruce and Wendy and their team do a wonderful job as hosts. I highly recommend the hotel for anyone looking for traditional hotel accommodation. It does not get any better than Mickey Bourke’s.

We received a friendly welcome on arrival and were shown the facilities- breakfast and TV rooms, the bar and dining area. We stayed on Monday and were the only couple in house. Our room was big and had a very comfortable bed. Shared bathroom was modern and absolutely spotless. It was our 46th wedding anniversary and we celebrated with a delicious dinner. Perfectly cooked, my husband had the Guinness pie and I the lamb shanks. For a treat we followed up with apple and rhubarb crumble and sticky date pudding. Earlier on, we sat in the snug just off the bar for a drink. This hotel has a homely feel to it and it is easy to settle into. There is parking on site at the rear of the hotel. I must say, we were a little concerned after reading a review about trucks going by all night. We did not find this to be the case. I heard a couple of trucks prior to going to sleep. After that, either they did not wake me, or there were none. We thoroughly enjoyed our stopover. Thank you for the great hospitality.

This place has character. Food and atmosphere is great. As long as you realise it is not a motel with in-room TV, shower and aircon, you will enjoy the friendly staff and ambience. Just 10 mins out of Warrnambool.

Fantastic country pub! Clean room, cosy & comfortable single bed, very clean shared bathroom. The owners and their staff are extremely friendly. And the meals - absolutely first class. I'll definitely stay here again when in the area. Thanks :)

Made very welcome by Wendy and staff. The collection of memorabilia which decorates the hotel interior makes for a special and interesting atmosphere to the hotel. We had an enjoyable stay.

Wotif failed to tell me that the hotel didn’t provide private bathrooms, so I was appalled to learn that they were communal for $180 a night. The whole place smelled strongly of dust and we were kept up late by live performances one floor below. The bed was comfortable but while the sheets were white, the quilt was floral, and white linen is the golden rule for hospitality, to ensure cleanliness. I forgot my towel in the bathroom and found it over twelve hours later where I left it, which makes me wonder whether the bathrooms are cleaned between people.

We booked the property due to the rating online. This proved to be very deceiving. The bed was uncomfortable, room was extremely dusty and the odour was horrible.
