Perfect stay in Mt Kinabalu

Perfect stay in Mt Kinabalu. The house we stayed is cosy and very convenient for visiting the Mt Kinabalu Park as it’s situated inside the park. There is heater in the house which makes is super great in the rainy cold days in the mountain. Facilities are great. There is movie channel for visitors to enjoy !

Friendly staff and the suite was great. You're located directly inside the Kinabalu National Park in Kundasang. We were specifically in one of the Nepenthes Suites which I can say was very nice (one of the King Bed suites). It was roomie, included full bathroom with a shower and hot water, a mini fridge, a sink with a facet for drinkable water, a smart tv (not huge), and a fire place. Entry into the park was 50 ringgit for foreigners, and 10 ringgit for locals. This is a per person/ per entry fee unless you're staying inside the park like we were, in which case the fee lasts 3 days. *If you're staying in the park you can leave the park and come back during these 3 days and you should be able to just show the person at the gate your initial ticket - we did have some confusion where the person at the gate thought we had to pay again, but the people at the front desk were able to confirm the tickets are good for 3 days and they got our second payment returned to us. Our stay also included a breakfast service each morning from the restaurant in the park which was nice (a very short walk from our suite), and they also offered room service from the same restaurant. Room service obviously wasn't included, but there wasn't a service fee or anything apart from the cost of the meals which was also nice coming from the US. Over all my wife and I really enjoyed the stay and I felt it was great value.

Great place to stay

Great place to stay at, within Mt Kinabalu Park. Excellent services and friendly staff. Great place to stay at if you like trekking. Good food and a nice fireplace to keep warm during cold evenings.

The property is within the Kinabalu National Park, so it is surrounded by the flora and fauna of the rainforest, which is so dense and delightful. The hiking trails are nearby and even walking up to the first checkpoint is very convenient. I loved my time there lots as an escape from the city life.

Limited accommodation options meant we picked this. We have been staying in budget accommodation so hoped that because this was more expensive we would be looked after. The staff didn't seem particularly attentive with us, and the hot water for the showers didn't work meaning that after a day of hiking we had ice cold showers. We ate in the restuarant and were ignored on multiple occasions.

The staff at the reception and Liwagu restaurant is attentive and courteous. KKNP is a great place to experience nature walks. The paved roads are maintained and clean. However the room & furniture is aged and requires maintenance. While the air quality in the open is refreshing and cooling, the room is stuffy. A fan to circulate the spacious room would help. The property certainly needs upgrading.

I stayed at Peak Lodge. The view is beautiful. However , the lodge is a little dated and deserves a refurbishment .overall, it's comfortable without much hassle Staff are very friendly and responsibke .I left so personal belongings behind and Azlan managed to deliver it to KK city to my friend. Thank you

so disappointing

it remain the best option in Kundasang but every time maintenance and services are getting worst... this time, in one of the best villas they have, paid RM 800 for one night stay, not enough hot water for all guests to have a shower. My bed blanket had a big stain on one side. Restaurant is becoming ridiculously bad... overpriced, specially at breakfast time, doesn’t offer enough options and quality of food for the level of the Sutera resort..... RM 28 for french toasts that are just 2 slices of bread, 3 very small slices of banana (1/6 of a normal banana fruit), and and a spoon of honey!!?? I still recommend the place for a stay mostly because there are no better options but avoid the restaurant at all

Grundsätzlich für einen Nationalpark absolut ok, jedoch hat es mich überhaupt mitgerissen. Wir hatten das Rock Hostel, eben die günstige Variante, die soweit ok war. Sehr einfach, aber alles in Ordnung. Essen gibt es von 6-11, 12-16 und 18-22 in Buffet Form. Personal ist sehr aufgesetzt nett, aber hatte nicht so wirklich Ahnung bzw. hatte kein großes Interesse dem Gast entgegenzukommen. Die Trails sind ganz gut, wobei die Beschilderung hier und da besser sein könnte. Ist gefühlt alles nur für Leute ausgelegt, die den Gipel besteigen wollen.
