"We had a very pleasant stay, even managed to take a plunge in the pool despite being a tad chilly. We were also given a chance to pick a room for us, which was much appreciated "

"Located in the heart of the old town Kotor, Hotel Hippocampus is an excellent boutique hotel. Just 3 min walking from both sea gate and river gate, hotel Hippocampus is manned by excellent friendly staffs. Our superior room was very clean, beautiful stylish luxurious interior, very comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. The breakfast served was freshly made and tasteful. Highly recommended for a perfect stay in Kotor. "
"This was an extremely unpleasant place to stay. The rooms had a stale, lingering smell, and the bathroom reeked of sewage.
The outdoor pool was out of service with no explanation, and it looked like it had been that way for quite some time. The indoor pool was poorly lit to the point where it was difficult to even find your way around, everything felt dark and neglected.
Hot water would cut out for long periods, and the heater in the room made constant, disruptive noise.
Requests for assistance were ignored, with staff rarely showing up when needed. Breakfast was shockingly inadequate, portions were minimal (at one point, just a couple of kiwi slices shared among many guests), and there was no variety to speak of.
Overall, the experience was dreadful. I felt uncomfortable and uneasy throughout my stay and was simply counting down the time until I could leave. I would not recommend this place to anyone."
"We absolutely loved our stay at Bayview Hills. From the moment we.arrived, everything felt welcoming, peaceful, and well taken care of. The environment is beautiful, clean, and the apartment is perfect for a relaxing getaway.
A special mention goes to Sarhat, who truly made our experience exceptional. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed.
Sarhat went above and beyond to ensure everything was comfortable and smooth throughout our stay.
We would definitely recommend Bayview Hills to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable experience."
"Lovely welcome , efficient concierge service, very clean and in the heart of the city almost 5 minutes from everywhere
Kitchen equipment almost new and all functioning
They know not only how to offer a good accommodation but a full friendly service and cater to all your needs "
"Room was good, tidy. Staff's were polite and kind. The issue we had was with the bathroom which is small, the floor was almost wet when showered. There was no free parking nearby. Paid parking was found in a 7 mins walkable distance. "
"I am writing this to offer a serious counter-perspective to the positive reviews here. While the location in the Old Town is central, do not assume this guarantees a professional or comfortable experience. Our stay was defined by unprovoked aggression from the host and a lack of basic utilities.
1. Unacceptable Host Conduct:
The property’s reputation relies on 'host helpfulness,' but our experience was the opposite. Upon arrival, we encountered a jammed main door—a significant access and safety concern. When I called the host ('D') to resolve this, instead of assistance, I was yelled at and berated over the phone. Being shouted at by a proprietor while stranded at check-in is professionally inexcusable. It set a distressing tone for the entire trip.
2. Micromanagement of Utilities:
Do not expect a comfortable long shower here. Hot water availability was severely limited. What makes this worse is the host’s controlling attitude toward the amenities; we were explicitly instructed not to touch the water heating geyser and forced to leave it on 'Eco mode.' You are effectively paying for a cold shower so the host can save a few cents on electricity.
3. Non-Functional WiFi:
If you need to work, check emails, or plan your itinerary, look elsewhere. The WiFi signal was dismal and practically unusable throughout our stay. In 2025, reliable internet is a basic requirement, not a luxury. The issue was thick stone walls but surely there are WiFi boosters out there ?"
