"The owner is not kind or friendly, I had to wait in rain around 40 minutes before a kind neighbor arrived and helped, no bed is ok but tatami and everything is short, I’m 5’8 only and I had to try sleeping in half moon position, no bathroom attached bed room, at night time you have to go down into a very steep stairs which is dangerous, no taxi can enter the premise and will not come to get you. "

"Great place, close to everything. Bedroom and living area, bathroom all excellent. Kitchen a little light on bench space. Easy to find but entry was a bit challenging, but maybe partly my fault. "

"Hygiene of this property was horrible! The property was full of insects and dirt. Bugs and spiders were everywhere - on dining table, on floor, on wall and even on the bed - literally a bug house! We were scared by a giant spider on the bed. It is beyond a normal hygiene problem but constitutes a safety concern for residents. Nevertheless, most terrifying and disappointing thing is the attitude and response of the property manager. We tried to contact the owner and asked for cleaning the dead...

"This was a beautiful property. Everything was clean, updated, and easy to find. The host left a very helpful instructional booklet describing how to use all of the amenities, and even instructions on how to best prepare the food. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would love to stay here again!!"

"Hako Riero was wonderful. It was clean, stylish and very high tech. It had a 7 eleven in walking distance and very close to the Hakkne-Yumoto train station. I would absolutely stay here again. "

"This hotel is definitely the best we've stayed at, not only on this trip, but on all our trips. Simply fantastic. It was a spacious apartment with queen-size beds, a sauna, and a jacuzzi. Fully equipped and with complimentary toiletries. The best!"

"The ryokan was beautiful. The onsen was truly special with breathtaking views into the mountains and waterfall for the open air bath. The water really was different - made my hair silky smooth. The kaiseki dinner was also an experience I would definitely recommend trying! Beautiful presentation. "
