Very nice hotel
It's a very nice hotel right next to Andryinvski descent. The hotel is shining clean, the staff is friendly. Its located within a short walk both from Podil entertainment district and the sights of the city center. Highly recommended

One of a kind
I love this hotel, and used to stay there everytime when I was visiting the city more frequently; but while the staff remained super helpful, nice and professional, the rooms could use a touch-up.

Beautiful for a splurge!
This is a truly lovely hotel in a fantastic part of Kyiv. It's right near the top of the hill in the old quarter of the city and walking distance to many major sites. The area is popular with tourists, but it's a quick walk to other neighborhoods if that's not your thing. The room was comfortable, very clean, had working a/c, and good wifi. It faced the inside courtyard, which could be a little loud on weekend nights, so do bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The staff is friendly and helpful, and most spoke solid English. The restaurant was very good, though not cheap. The breakfast is very good too, with a buffet and a choice of hot dishes made to order. Though at 17 euro, I did think it was bit expensive--but that's a minor issue. I would suggest getting new chairs for the desks; the one in my room was so high that I couldn't sit on it and also put my legs under the desk!

Beautiful terrace within hotel, stay and enjoy.
The hotel is very comfortable and staff attentive. The bar and dining area is set in a beautiful tiered terrace, which is a hidden gem here.

My plane arrived late at 330 am I arrived. Bellman and reception were waiting for me! The hotel warm and inviting, great a/c, excellent meals, very very helpful reception, steps from St. Andrew church and history museum, Abt 10 min walk to st. Sophia and st.michaels, nice park right behind hotel, 15 min walk from golden gate, independence SQ., Opera house. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!!

Disappointed with this hotel
We thought we had booked a great hotel but were sadly quite disappointed. The room was comfortable but for an Executive Double it was very small with limited storage, had ackward doors and tiny window. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful but the concierge provided poor advice on how to spend our days (which we ignored). The restaurant was empty everytime we used it and we were astounded that the price of the buffet breakfast was more half the cost of our full evening meal with wine! Finally the taxi booked for us by the hotel was much more expensive than the one booked on our arrival at the airport and much less comfortable. Beware also that location of this hotel as it is at north end of all interesting sights and it’s a long way to Pechersk Lavra.

I can think of nothing to detract from my visit. The reception staff were excellent. It’s a very attractive hotel, nice sized room, very comfortable bed. The room was kept immaculate. Unique Boutique Hotel
The rooms and general areas of the hotel, including the rooftop restaurant, were decorated in a modern and very artistic style. The staff were helpful and very pleasant and most spoke English well.

Such a lovely place to stay
My first trip to ukraine and I wasn't sure what to expect but this hotel was perfect - located in the old part of town, walking distance to sights and the Metro (which is great and cheap), close to food, warm and comfy - great rooms and great service. I would recommend it to anyone who is heading to Kiev. The city itself is a little tricky to navigate at first, and the hotel is 15 mins away from the metro, but Uber is brilliant here so you're never unable to get around. The Andriyivskyy Descent is just around the corner, so there are stalls and markets and gorgeous scenery abounds, as well as churches and history at every turn. I will come back and stay again.

Hotel on the hill, get ready to walk
We stayed at the hotel in January, 2017. Booked it through Travelocity. Overall the impression is favorable but for a couple of minor things: 1) The hotel is on a hill. It's slippery there in winter and it's a good two-mile walk from the subway. Plan accordingly. 2) The staff are very friendly and helpful. Everybody speaks English. However, there were a couple of unpleasant instances. In our rooms we discovered that TV channels weren't working. The lady at the reception said they haven't been working for the past several days in the entire hotel because of the broken satellite dish. Why don't you warn guests in advance?! We spent quite a bit of time at the hotel and watching TV was a must for us. Another thing was ordering taxis. In Ukraine, taxi drivers rip you off, so it's better to ask the hotel to order a taxi for you and set the price. We ordered a taxi through the hotel receptionist and he DID overcharge us. His price was higher than what the receptionist told us it would be. No explanation offered. There was no extra waiting or driving involved. We were going to the opera so decided not to spoil our mood by arguing. But be aware of such unpleasant situations. Lastly, upon checkout they tried to charge us for the mini-bar that we never used. It's a common mistake at the hotels, but I thought I'd warn other guests to be attentive and check the bill. Otherwise, the hotel staff were very nice, friendly and apologized for any inconveniences so I have no hard feelings.

Beautiful hotel located in near downtown Kiev
This was an overall great experience. I had my reservations about staying in Kiev, but after one glance of the neighborhood and the hotel, all of my worries disappeared. The staff was extremely accommodating, especially with the language barrier.They understood everything I had to say and even helped me with nearby restaurants and things to do in my brief stay. I had lost my Mastercard and unfortunately the restaurant above did not accept American Express, instead of denying me, the hotel concierge allowed me to pay my food bill through the hotel! This hotel was centrally located in the heart of the cultural district of Kiev. A few steps from the hotel was a lookout site that allowed me to take in a gorgeous panorama view of Kiev. Not to mention a block from the hotel was the gorgeous Saint Andrews Church :) Needless to say I will be back when I visit Kiev again next year.

Perfect Hotel. I will go back.
I spent 8 nights at the Vozdvyzhensky in late October, as a tourist. It was my first trip to Kiev. I do hope to go back, and I would not consider any other hotel. Its location is perfect for exploring the city; EVERYONE working there was extremely warm and helpful, and completely welcoming. Breakfast in the restaurant was a pleasure each morning with a buffet plus hot dishes made to order; and I ate dinner there as well. The room (and bed, important to me) were very comfortable; and the wifi in the room was always perfect. The terraced garden off the restaurant (closed since it was late in the season) was a little paradise, climbing up a wooded hill right outside the Restaurant door, with tables for eating and drinking in warm weather. Kiev is beautifully located, on a hill(s) above the Dniepro River; and the Vozdvyzhensky is located 5 minutes down from the top of the hill,, just off a winding,cobblestoned street that is full of life and always a pleasure to walk along. The street is crowned at the top by a magnificent Cathedral; and beyond it there is a short walk to St. Sophia and the National Museum, and many of the important places to visit in the city. At the foot of the hill is a different area: Podol which is a wonderful place to wander in as well. I am already thinking about another trip next summer.

Location just right for old town of Podil. Surrounded by interesting old buildings. Room was spotless, compact but provided all comforts expected except jacket press. Arrived late in season [ end September ] but still managed to eat at night on upper open level under the radiation of gas heater. Thoroughly recommended
