The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"The property was beautiful and the staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. The pool could be amazing but the finish is so rough (like coarse sand paper) that it is uncomfortable and the water quality does not seem to be up to snuff (my white cover-ups came home with a brownish tinge. The most upsetting issue was the fact that the food in the open air buffet restaurant did not cover the food offerings, allowingt flys to land all over the food (disgusting). Also, at a resort of this category, I would have expected more air-conditioned areas to eat in. Additionally, I found the floors in the room quite dirty. Fortunately, the attention given by the staff went a long way to balance the good and the bad. Everyone gave over 100% to make us feel welcome and tried to meet all our needs."
"Wow — my family has never experienced such hospitality! This hotel deserves 10+ stars for not only location, cleanliness, comfort and amenities, but the added touches of getting our room ready for our family and celebration of our anniversary with a bottle of wine, included breakfast, complimentary stainless steel water bottles, and complimentary laundry washed, dried and folded for us was impeccable and sets a new standard for superior service. The concierge was able to answer all our questions via WhatsApp which made it easy to explore the area on the go. To boot, the hotel helped us get breakfast to go on our last day because we were flying early. We would come back to Nosara just to spend time at Olas Verdes hotel. Thanks to all who helped make our experience more than memorable for our family!"
"Came here as part of a family trip and honestly wasn't sure what to expect from a boutique hotel tucked into the jungle.
Left completely blown away.
The staff is what sets this place apart, from the front desk to the restaurant team — is genuinely warm. Not "hotel-trained warm," but actually present and attentive. They remember your name, they check in on you, and they do it without being intrusive, they go above and beyond on multiple occasions. You feel like a guest in someone's home, not a room number.
The food at Almar is seriously no joke. I've eaten at some great spots and this restaurant punched above its weight in a big way. Chef Hugo puts real thought and care into every plate — local ingredients, clean flavors, beautiful presentation. And breakfast every morning was something I actually looked forward to.
We ate there every single morning and never got tired of it.
The daily yoga class was a nice surprise too. I don't have a regular practice at home but I showed up most mornings and it genuinely added something to the trip. The instructors know what they are doing and makes it accessible no matter your level. Hard to beat starting your day with that, surrounded by jungle.
The vibe here is intentional — slow, calm, adults only. If you're looking for a party hotel, this isn't it. But if you want to actually decompress, eat really well, and be taken care of by people who actually seem to enjoy what they do — ESH is the one."
"Female manager was very inconsiderate to caution a group of girls for being too loud at the pool bar , this is expected and encouraged at an all inclusive resort
Killed the vibe for the rest of the stay"
"The staff were accommodating and always willing to help. Our room was lovely and as advertised online. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. The pools were wonderful and our spa experience was extremely positive.
Overall good value for dollar.
Our only complaint would be the cost of a poolside drink - it was wild!"
