"Lovely friendly staff, and nice hotel in good order. Unfortunately the walls to our room were paper thin, the guest next door put the tv or radio on at 2.00 am, so loud it may have well been on in my room! Luckily a bang on the wall had the desired effect. "
"Stayed mainly to break up our journey from the Portuguese coast to the Mediterranean coast, but we were very pleased we stayed in the old town and at this hotel. They were both excellent. Beautifully appointed hotel, spacious bedroom and bathroom with lots of character. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast in a beautiful dining room, unfortunately the restaurant was temporarily closed but we were able to find one within walking distance."
"This is a great hotel in an antique Palacio. Our bed room was very impressive with 3 feet stone walls and a private balcony on Plaza Mayor. I recommend this hotel for its charm and authenticity."
"First of all, I arrived well after the start of check in, but the hotel was locked up. When I phoned the hotel number it just went straight to answerphone - not a lot of use.
I then spent 10 minutes webchatting to the Expedia bot going round in circles - it kept saying the same thing - before I got to a human. Eventually it was sorted and the owner woke up(literally) and came to the door. No apology and he even wanted to charge extra for breakfast. Not impressed.
To make matters worse, I decided to have dinner at the hotel. I went and sat down at a table, and the owner came to take an order from another couple. He said he'd get me a menu then promptly disappeared to do some cooking. No menu, no drink, so I went to have dinner in the town.
Also, there was no hot water.
Not the way to run a hotel. Avoid!"
"The host was welcoming and offered us a fixed meal at very reasonable price. Even though we did not arrive until 8pm. The room was warm, clean and comfortable. This hotel is unfortunately in an isolated location not easily accessible from any major roads. "
"Everything was perfect and I have to stress the upgrade I received, by courtesy in the reception, for a room in the main building with very good conditions without any change. The only thing I considered less was the breakfast that had a few variety of food."
