"Nice and cozy rooms in the middle of nothing, just you and the silence broken by some very faint cowbells coming from the landscape, place is very realxing!!! On the front, there's some convenient tables and chairs to enjoy the pleasant scenery. Unfortunately, there's one BIG con: the only window in the room is the upper part of the main door (it's a splitted door) with no curtains, which means no privacy at all if you want to keep the window open. "Tour by a Monk,although in Spanish, we were able to really see the church and the Monastery. Monk was very engaging for a full 45 minutes.Thebreakfast was excellent and very plentiful.Dinner the same.The Cafe/Bar really excellent with plenty of choice. Car parking was safe and plentiful."

"I travelled to the hotel on a motorcycle through mountain roads in the hope of seeing the total solar eclipse on 12th August. The place impressed from the start, Welcoming receptionist and an aesthetic vibe unlike anywhere I've stayed, and the room merited the superior' tag - with a sumptuous bathroom, offering an unprecedented (for me) shower experience. Wonderful after the effort of getting there. A multinational group of guests enhanced the sense of being somewhere very special. The view on arrival evening was sunny and sublime, but alas a change of wind direction, as forecast, resulted in us being enveloped in cloud almost all the following day, including during the eclipse. Breakfast was freshly prepared and provided a wonderful selection of savoury and sweet, including fresh fruits. A heavy cold confined me to the immediate vicinity after walking down into Villaviciosa for food and some drink as the bar service was closed due to the staff being limited on eclipse evening, but our in-room refrigerators were kindly stocked with drinks to compensate. I wish, on reflection, that I had stayed a third night, not only because of the cold symptoms, but because it was such a relaxing setting. Another year, also, I would not choose months other than August for visiting the area again. Visit again I will, though!"
