From start to finish a perfect stay! We arrived in the morning and thought we couldn’t check in until 3pm but they gave us access to our accommodation on arrival. The same with a late check out which made our holiday! The food was great, beautiful grounds and beach. Bed was comfy and a large balcony and two pool areas it was fabulous!

Our stay at Royal Horizon Baobab in La Somone was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the kindest, most polite and professional staff across all services — kitchen, waiters, animation, cleaning, and security. Everyone made us feel at home. The food was absolutely amazing, with diverse and delicious choices every day. The pool area was spotless, with comfortable sunbeds perfect for relaxing while enjoying the beautiful surroundings and stunning views. There were plenty of fun activities and entertainment programs to keep everyone engaged. The location is ideal, with the village nearby and exciting experiences like Bandia animal reserve, quad rides, and boat trips in the Somone Lagoon. A special shout-out to Issa, Tina, Amadou, Mata, and Ismael from the animation team, and to Pape and Adama from the waiting team — you made our stay extra special! Highly recommended!

Excellent property. Ideally located. Nice decor. I wish the staff were more friendly, especially the staff at the front desk. They can be rude to the clients. And it seems like no one even taught them to smile or say thank you for staying at our hotel. They make you feel like you owe them something or they are doing you a favor by staying there, instead of the opposite.

I significantly decrease my rating for the place, because as usual I learned that with politeness you get nowhere in Royal Baobab. Garden is beautiful, food is ok, beach is nice. That all stays. The workers there are awesome people. But as well stays that the weakest point of the facility is "management" staff. I faced unpleasant problem: in my room, there was only hot, boiling water getting out of the taps. No cold one. As we arrived little late, I left it to morning (might be some lack of water, or might solve itself.. TIA), but being there with little baby, it started to be serious problem. I attended twice Reception and once - I guess cleaners manager - during the day, but only achived that arriving maintenace stated "low pressure" without further action. I spent all day trying to sort out crap that is not my issue, so when came really agitated at 18:00, unable to wash my tiny kid and as well not able to reach any conclusion, one of reception staff had audacity to lecture me about my attitude. I guess that considering the price and the fact I was more than polite for the whole day without hygiene, this is beyond any red line. I did as well heard in one moment, that reception staff is not responsible for that. Sorry. You are. Majority of staff is awesome in this place, they do their job awesomly. But management just sucks. If you do not need specific (larger) room, I recommend any comptetition, or just AirB&B, will be not disappointed.

very nice stay at Horizon Baobab. The location is a key advantage, just by the laguna, with stunning views and great wildlife to spot. The resort is very clean and well maintained and very dedicated service from the staff. One downside would be the poor access to wifi from the rooms. Great animations are proposed and options for surrounding sightseeing arrangement are also available.

Great place, love to come back again and possibly stay longer than couple days. The only suggestion I have is to work on improving customer service specially on the food & drink areas. This was a really lovely stay. Feels like a secret gem on the West African coast. Hotel guests were predominantly Black Africans but also I would say 25-33% were white Francophone people. We felt taken care of by the staff, especially the dining staff (and the hall head directrice, who always greeted guests and remembers families). The food options and quality were also great. The best part was the surrounding and care for the property (gardens, etc). Loved loved the peaceful beach side and cabanas. Not so great: at the end of our stay, I got an email stating our checkout times (later than typical but great since we had late flights and booked hotel airport transfers that I had paid for). The times were at our transfer times. But shortly before, a previously pleasant housekeeper got short with us because I think she was being asked to clean our rooms and get us out. The lady at the front desk (seems senior) was unaware of the email and asked us to check out, at the desk, she also acted as if the rides were not paid and I had to login to my bank to show them at the front desk. They do not keep great digital records and are very old school (ledgers and calculators). This made an otherwise 10/10 trip annoying. They also need to upgrade their bathrooms and put air vents in their bathrooms. There is great AC in rooms. I would still recommend this place.
