The Stanley Hotel

"We had a great time at the Stanley. Glorious old building and grounds with lots to do and really good food. Historical tour was fun and enjoyed watching the ghost tour groups go past. Our room could use some updating, but at least most everything was in keeping with the history of the hotel. The construction going on did not bother us and while parking can be a challenge, we always found a spot."

"The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated having coffee and a refrigerator in the room. My second floor room had windows that faced the front and rear of the property and the views were nice. I enjoyed seeing elk right outside the window. The breakfast was ok - quite a few choices; yogurt, juice, cereal, pastries, toast, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs & apples. The biggest disappointment was the condition of the outside of the building. It gave me a little bit of a negative first impression. The paint was worn, as were the carpets on the walkways. The cement and asphalt were lumpy, making it somewhat difficult to walk safely. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would stay again."
