We loved our visit here. John and Yvonne were wonderful. The space was clean, quiet, and truly magical. The views were second to none and the castle and other buildings are truly worth experiencing. We loved learning about the history of this place and we will certainly be back.

Amazing stay!!

This was more than just another place to stay, it was a great experience. We stayed in the cottage and it was better than described. It was a perfect place to spend time relaxing. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen provided everything we needed. The entire unit was very clean. John and Yvonne were warm and gracious hosts. I just can’t say enough good about it all.

The highlands castle was a beautiful and different experience . Took my wife there this year valentine's day and had a great time. Lots of near by amenities and grocery store. I can not wait to go back in the summer months and get the full experience with better weather

Covid get away

Like everyone at this time my husband and I were having difficulty being in the same shared space in our house. We decided to try and get away to celebrate our anniversary. The Highlands Castle was a perfect place for us to reconnect and celebrate our 26 years together. The owners of the castle where there to help us with anything we needed but they did so without being intrusive. The views and the accommodations were picture perfect - the pictures on the website don't even do it justice. There was plenty of room for us to spread out during the time we actually spent at the castle and there were plenty of activities for us to enjoy in the surrounding towns when we left the castle.

Surprised my wife for our anniversary by booking this place. Only thing I told her was that the accommodations were fit for my queen. Little did she knw she would be staying in a castle. Place was Awesome and the Owner made us feel right at home. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique stay.

My wife and I stayed at Highlands Castle for a couple of days the week of July 4th. It was crazy hot all week long but our room was nice and cool with AC. In the evenings we could sit outside (or in the screened in area) and enjoy the breeze up on the hill while taking in amazing views of Lake George. The town of Bolton Landing is about 4/10 of a mile away. It's a really nice little town with lots of shops, restaurants and marinas. We already talked about staying there again the next time we're in the area.

A castle with great views of lake George

The host, John is philosophical, shares his life lessons and a wonderful host. We did arrive in Winter, with heavy snow so the driveway was challenging, particularly on the way down. The two large ( docile ) dogs, although we did not mind, might not be everybody's cup of tea. The heating though was great, again thanks to a great host. For the price, I was expecting a welcome warm drink or some small touch to welcome us or a kettle in the room. The bathroom had basic amenities but no complimentary shampoo or shower gel or bath robes. Even though the high price does not include breakfast, we were fortunate in that John bought us breakfast in the local ( excellent and friendly ) Bolton beans diner. Coffee and tea in the morning at the castle was appreciated. If the little touches were included it would be amazing but a lovely stay and the view of lake George is panoramic and mesmerising.

This is my first time to write a review. This castle is a very special experience. The view of the lake George is breathe-taking!!! The rooms are very clean and beautiful. John is very hospitable! And even upgraded our suite!!! This is a place where perfect for photoshoot, or honeymoon, birthday party and events like that. But it is also great place for just a getaway weekend. This is not like a hotel where different people stuck in a same place. The castle has privacy and serenity I adore.!The sunlight in the morning is warm and soft. The rooms are very cozy. Definitely worth to stay! I hope I can come back sometime!!
