"The air didn't work in the rooms thos past weekend. Also someone came into my room and picked up a towel and put new bar of soap in my room but didn't"
"Overall this is a good hotel. A major drawback was the pool - hot tub area, which was overrun with kids who were not attended by parents. Basically an entire pool's worth of kids were in the hot tub."
"The property was very clean and welcoming. When we checked in, the clerk was on his phone which I didn't mind that. My discomfort came from the fact I could see it was on speaker phone once I got to the desk. So as I'm giving my personal information, the person on the other end would have been hearing all that. Since it was booked and prepaid, it was just my phone number and email. Not too sensitive but still left me a bit uncomfortable. The room was very clean and roomy. Only one issue that I fully recognize is only issue for a small portion of people. When we walked in, we noticed a fresh laundry smell. We didn't think much of it. However, when we went to lay down later that night, on my side of the bed the smell got more intense. Which was weird. The problem with this is I both have asthma and an allergy to chemical fragrances. I can deal with them in small passing doses but concentrated amounts causes reactions and activates my asthma. After a while of it becoming harder to breathe, we looked around for an air freshener. We found a plug-in air freshener behind the nightstand on my side set at max. Once we unplugged it and some time passed (and use of my inhaler), I was able to breathe again. I understand spraying some air freshener after you clean a room but I also feel a hotel's cleanliness should speak for itself and they should need a plug in air freshener for the room. Overall, the hotel was very nice but I wanted that warning out there for others who are sensitive."

6/10 Okay
"The exterior of the hotel makes it obvious this is an older hotel, but they have done a good job of renovating the inside. The room itself was clean and the breakfast was outstanding. Our issue was the hotel was full and the common areas and hallways didn't have the same clean feeling as the room. Coupled with the pot smell in the elevator and hallway, and the sound of doors being opened and shut through the night led us to cut our stay short and move to the Fairfield Inn at Union Hill.
The staff was friendly and it wasn't a bad experience, but since it cost the same as other hotels in the area, I'd choose to go back to the Fairfield Inn the next time we are in Kansas City. "

"I booked and paid through expedia. My husband arrived before i did. When I arrived i was suprised to see that we were in the wrong room. They had given us room 147. It was a room with a queen bed, no skirt around the bed, the one chair in the room was dirty, the padding had big stains on it. I immediately went down to the front desk to show them my receipt. I had booked and paid for a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. After much conversation they said they dont have that room for me and that my best bet was to come down in the morning and then they would try and move us to a room that we had paid for. I was told by two different people at the front desk the issue is that I ordered through Expedia and they cant really help me . My husband by then didnt want to pack up everything and move so we ended up staying in this crappy room both nights. When I asked for some kind of compensation since I didnt get what i paid for, the lady at the front desk said she couldnt help me because I booked through expedia and that was my fault for doing so. Her hands were tied now and she couldnt help me. Then she said hold on, went to the back and came back and said she was going to give me some points on my Marriot Benvoy account. She did. She gave me 1,000. Which is equivalent to maybe $9. The $9 didnt cover what i had paid to upgrade. I am very hesitant to use expedia in the future, especially if it involves a Marriot. We travel alot and I can say for certainty no more Marriott's for us."
