"Fantastic historic hotel right next to the Palmela castle. The rooms are big and we had a 2nd floor corner room which meant we had double the panoramic views. Breakfast was great with a huge choice of meats / cheeses / pastries / fruit / eggs etc and staff were very attentive. The only down point was the cost of the bar - ā¬3.50 for a very small glass of beer was outrageous - no wonder there were no people in there! The pricing of everything else was as you would expect for a nice hotel, so the bar pricing was unexpected. The hotel is only 40-45 minutes for Lisbon airport, so this makes a great stop either at the start or end of your visit to Portugal and I'm sure we'll be back."

"Hotel was beautiful, pool was stunning, loungers very comfortable, gym and spa were brilliant and the majority of staff were helpful. The cleaning staff were incredible and our room was spotless. The restaurant food wasnāt great and the staff werenāt hugely helpful or proactive. For example there is a sushi menu but this isnāt handed out, you have to ask for it. We were served wine on one evening which was the end of the bottle and not a full serve and we had to ask and then remjnd the waiter to open a new bottle to fill the glass. The pool menu is very limited (and doesnāt include sushi despite it being a very small distance from the kitchen). We stayed in a loft suite and there were a number of sharp cracked tiles around the bath. There is a shuttle to one beach but it finishes at 4.30 (there are no Ubers and getting a taxi is almost impossible) so it would be good if they could expand the shuttle service to the other beach clubs / restaurants (e.g comporta cafe / jncquoi) and run the shuttle for longer."

"Casa Palmela is a truly beautiful boutique hotel and an unforgettable place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such a lovely greeting, which immediately set the tone for our visit. The service throughout our stay was absolutely perfectāwarm, attentive, and thoughtful without ever feeling intrusive. There are many activities on and offsite that were very easy to arrange. The hotel itself is stunning, and our room was especially beautiful. We loved the gorgeous regional tilework, which gave the space so much character, and the amazing chandelier added an elegant touch. The complimentary bottle of local red wine and cheese board waiting for us was such a generous and memorable welcome. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wonderful buffet offering plenty of delicious options, and dinner at the hotel was excellent as well. Everything about Casa Palmela felt carefully considered, charming, and special. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refined and relaxing boutique hotel experience."
