Chateau des Ducs de Joyeuse, BW Signature Collection
10/10 Excellent
"We had a beautiful, large room with a canopy bed. All the furniture was elegant and antique in style. We had a huge bathroom with double sinks. The room came with robe and slippers. Our room was on the second floor reached by a spiral stone staircase. They brought our luggage to the room. Dinner is available and we enjoyed our meal in a stone walled room. Breakfast was served there too. It has a lovely courtyard where they served drinks. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend staying here. "
"Beautiful location, lovely staff, incredible valley view from the room. Road tricky for night driving. Hotel dated but comfortable. Food excellent but restaurant menu limited. "
"We enjoyed the flat. Very peaceful. Nice host. Lots of space. Simple breakfast; we asked for two eggs and we were accommodated. It was very good. Free parking. We spent two days"
"While the property is nice and the location is as good as advertised, the stay was very subpar, highlighted by two glaring problems:
1) Absolutely no staff on Sunday for our arrival. No front desk staff to check in, no guest services for questions - nobody.
2) No air conditioning made the spacious room uninhabitable, and sleep was incredibly hard to come by during the terrible heatwave that the region was experiencing when we were there."
"It is an excellent place to stay in Prades. Friendly and helpful owners. Speak good English. Delightful garden. Private parking at the rear of the house. We will definitely return."
"The Chaumiere is really the only good hotel in this area, decor feels a little set in the 1990's, but facilities are great and the set menu at the restaurant is a real treat. It has a nice casual feel and a very attentive owner/manager"
