"Very nice and clean hotel with an excellent location. Office staff was very friendly upon arrival. Later in the room it was difficult and I could not turn on the TV as it took two remotes that I couldn't figure out how to get the TV to come on. Then the air conditioning was set at 75 and there was a controller on the wall that didn't work. Upon calling the office the next day and tell him staff they told me they were sorry. Then called back and said that the air conditioning works fine and that the controller was inside the closet, which I had no idea that I should look inside the closet. They also said that the TV worked and they went there and got it to come on but it took both remotes to do it. It was a one-night stay for business and other than the air conditioning and television, the air conditioning being the most important, it was very nice. I felt a discount or a discount in the future would be appropriate. However, none was offered. I do come to the area two or three times a month and would love to stay at that hotel again."

"This is an older small hotel but clean and with two pools and jacuzzi. Very nice older couple own and run it and are very accommodating. You can walk to the beach and a dozen or so restaurants and bars. If you’re staying for a week or more, they have gas grills by the pool that you can cook your own meals on. There are two restaurants right on the beach, Aruba being the most popular with a bar and music. The Village Pump is a great breakfast place and has a locals bar that was established in 1949! Ocean 101 is across the street and has good seafood. We really enjoyed Billy Jack’s near by the hotel. A Key West style bar with great sliders and craft draft beer, as well as a full bar. The hotel isn’t beachfront, but it’s a 5 minute walk to everything including the beach. For the price, it’s a great value!"

"The Blue Strawberry is a great little place to spend a few days in Lauderdale by the Sea. This place is INCREDIBLY clean, and staff is very helpful. This is an older property, but has been well taken care of. If you are looking for a property close to the beach and the "square", this is it."
