Trod on Lealholm Rigg. The footpath up to Lealholm Rigg crosses another footpath, running East-West, which includes part of a trod. The trods on the North Yorkshire Moors were ancient trade routes, and were paved to help the pack horses.

Did not eat here. Had drinks in the bar which is well stocked. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Rooms, bed,pillows comfy. Depending on your room excellent views over the harbour/abbey . Short, easy walk into town.

Good location, nice friendly staff and generally decent hotel. Just abit tired; facilities, decor and upkeep. Not as modern and fresh as other hotels, so didn’t feel premium. £8 per car feels slightly overpriced for parking also for the area.
