The ideal hotel for people who enjoy time travel! In a very gentle and charming way one is transported into the early 19th century (decor around the two floors of the hotel). However it is not suited for people who have trouble climbing steep stairs.

Looks great, but abysmally unprofessional staff
Incredibly rude owner/manager. There is no reception desk; only a telephone phone with no specification of hours to call. When I called with an important matter regarding an inconsistency in the room vs the online reservation, I was given a stern attitude by the owner / manager who said he was about to go to bed and that he didn't have the energy to resolve the issue at the moment because he was "too tired" and that he "has a long day ahead tomorrow". The inconsistency was not my fault, and for him to dismiss the issue so rudely while I was polite was unprofessional and unacceptable. When hotels.com called them the next day to confirm that I didn't stay there (I informed the manager that the inconsiderate tone prompted me to stay elsewhere), the person who answered the phone told the hotels.com operator that he wasn't even sure of his own position or responsibilities at the hotel. Even the operator said it was a strange and unhelpful interaction. The place looks great, but the customer service is abysmally unprofessional.

The absolute only drawback is there is no AC. The hotel and staff are very nice I’d stay again.

Excellent staff!
All of the staff are so friendly and kind and willing to help in any way. I really appreciated their effort to help. The hotel is in a quiet area and very lovely. My only complaint was that the mattress was as hard as a rock!

The owner was very welcoming. Interesting hotel! Positive: quaint, good breakfast available, very quiet room Negative: small room air conditioner did NOT cool room to an even comfortable temp - could not keep windows open because of street noise. Limited parking available. Also - reception is up a VERY narrow stairway and some rooms up another flight. There is no elevator, so this hotel is not for anyone who cannot carry their bags up at least 14 narrow steps.

Quirky, charming hotel with lots of original features, antiques and pictures - like stepping back in time. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, but not all speak English. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast with huge choice of continental, cereals or cooked food and cream for your coffee! The beds and pillows were not the most comfortable but the duvet was warm and cosy. All bed linen was cotton and spotless and there is an air conditioning unit in each bedroom. Modern en suite bathroom in each room. Wifi was free. The hotel is on the outskirts of Leipzig (so is quiet) but there are two tram stops within 2 minutes walk - also a train station. The tram takes approx 10 -15 minutes into city centre. Nearby there is a lovely park, a huge supermarket, and the war monument which is well worth visiting. Under the hotel is a wonderful Greek restaurant "Ambrosia" which we highly recommend visiting at least once during your stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend to anyone who is looking for an authentic "olde worlde" German experience.

Satz mit X: war nix! Sonntagmittag eingetroffen und den Ansprechpartner nur über Telefon zu erreichen. Erster Eindruck: etwas unheimlich. Dunkel und irgendwie verlassen. Aber sollte ja auch nur für eine Nacht sein. Einrichtung sehr alt, aber mit Stil. Daher wohl auch der Name Jahrhunderthotel. Am nächsten Morgen dann wieder niemand an der Rezeption. Eine Reinemachfrau war die einzige Ansprechperson im Hotel. Auf die Frage nach dem Frühstück wurde verwundert mit dem Kopf geschüttelt. Frühstück nicht vorbereitet. Also das Hotel nüchtern verlassen. Ok, der Preis war in Ordnung. Aber auch dafür sollten Mindestleistungen geboten werden. Ich auf jeden Fall werde hier nichts mehr buchen.

Der erste Eindruck täuscht. Man denkt anfangs, dass man in eine Herberge geht. Also Treppe hoch und dann wird es angenehm. Freundlicher Empfang, passender vintage style, schöne Zimmer. Frühstück kann man durchaus empfehlen. Einziges Manko waren die Kopfkissen, das war aber auch schon alles.

Charmantes Hotel mit lebendiger Geschichte
Nettes kleines, verkehrsgünstig gelegenes Hotel in der Nähe vom Völkerschlachtdenkmal. Charmant fand ich die alte Einrichtung des Hotels. Das Bett war sehr bequem, das Zimmer war sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Ich war nur zum Übernachten da. Daher kann ich die Qualität des Frühstücks nicht beurteilen.

Eintauchen ins letzte Jahrhundert
Dieses Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig an S-Bahn und Straßenbahn, leider direkt an einer vielbefahrenen Straße. Deswegen ist es nicht so ruhig. Das Hotel hat einen einheitlichen Stil der Ausstattung, aber leider keinen Aufzug. Das Frühstück war umfangreich und köstlich. Das Personal war sehr nett. Wir kommen gern wieder, wenn wir im ersten Stock wohnen können.

Charmerende historisk hotel
Receptionen var ikke åben da vi ankom lidt sent, men indtjekning via telefon gik smidigt og var imødekommende. Hotellet har en sjov historie og sin helt egen charme. Trods corona var der dejlig morgenmad og venlig betjening. (Der er i øvrigt mulighed for at spise græsk på restauranten under hotellet).

Sehr gute Lage,gutes Frühstück sehr sehr nettes Personal. Bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt gibt es ein Zimmer zur hofseite da es da ruhiger ist was nicht heißt da zur Straße hin laut ist sehr sehr gute Fenster nur bei Tag muss man sie geschlossen halten. alle sehr nett wir kommen wieder

Eingeschraenkte Parkmoeglichkeit. Laermproblem bei Zimmern zur Strasse bzw. Zur Bahnlinie. Ich hatte relativ ruhiges Zimmer zum Innenhof. Ein bequemer Sessel im Zimmer fehlte leider. Herr Richter ( stellvertreter Geschaeftsfuehrer) War sehr kommunikationsfreudig.
