Our stay was fantastic. Room was lovely and clean and well stocked. Food was amazing and good portions Staff would help you with anything. Very friendly and made great conversation and good advise of the area Would definitely staff here again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area

Great little country pub. Very clean and welcoming. Excellent pub grub. Only downside was the bathroom in bedroom 1 was tiny. Very comfortable bed and the room was very quiet at night

Dog friendly

Warm welcome and perfect location when visiting my daughter in Brighton uni and away from the busy town. Free parking and no extra charges for our dog, both of which are hard to find

The Blacksmiths is a great find and the family that run this establishment are very welcoming and were very obliging to the clientèle. I had a good quality breakfast. I would stay here again and recommend the Blacksmiths to others

All excellent nice dinner and breakfast and lovely service and very friendly . Think the new owners have been there since March 2022 and it has improved massively 👍. Will be back again when in the area .

The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. However the room was poor - noisy from other guests and the road outside plus the shower was old and some of the walls and ceiling unfinished from painting.

Amazing service. The food was great, parking was easy. I was also traveling with a dog and there was a walking trail one minute away which was recommended by the owner. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and welcoming. Double glazed windows so early morning traffic not heard. As a smoker the area for smoking was located outside close to rooms, so no long walk.

Welcoming

Our stay at the Blacksmiths Arms was quite good, the landlady was welcoming and we checked in with no issues. The inclusive continental breakfast had all we needed and the cooked breakfast options were good. Our only criticism was that the hot water was only lukewarm and the shower lacked really good pressure but for a one night stay we coped.

A useful base

Fairly basic accommodation but fine for what we needed. Pleasant hosts. Hotel a little further from Lewes than we expected. Beds comfy but room decor a little tired and bathroom especially needed some TLC. Continental breakfast fine - nice coffee. Extra charge for cooked.

Brilliant staff

Room decoration a bit tired and water pressure low but really comfortable. Staff amazing, especially as my wife had dropped some tablets in the room which we didn’t realise until long after we’d checked out that the staff had saved them when we returned later
