a bit spartan did not know it was a retreat hotel, no tv or bar and totally vegetarian , I have no problem with this but it was not part of the expedia booking site.

Should have more information on the booking page, it is run by Quakers which restricts what goes on there, no TVs anywhere in the building, no alcohol anywhere in the hotel or in the grounds, no smoking in the grounds and our room was not serviced when we returned for our second night.(towels needed, cups washed, more tea making stuff, beds not made, etc). On the plus side, if you want to read a book, get a good night sleep in a clean room and have a great choice of continental breakfast all at a good price then it’s the one for you!!

Quiet, calm and comfortable

Very calm and quiet stay in a pleasant village. The house has an olde-world traditional atmosphere, with peace and quiet being the normal. Hardly any traffic noise. There are aircraft on final approach overhead but they're still high because Gatwick is many miles away. Breakfasts are good and sufficient and I was quite happy that they don't offer full cooked breakfast. The bedroom was simple but completely sufficient, with a comfortable bed and excellent en-suite. Recommended

Lohnenswerte Unterkunft

landschaftlich schön gelegen. Sehr nette Rezeptionistin, die 1Std. auf uns gewartet hat, weil wir die Information per Mail, dass der Check-in bis 17 Uhr abgesclossen sein sollte, wegen schlechtem Internetempfang nicht rechtzeitig lesen konnten. Betten sind etwas durchgelegen und knarren, dürften mal überholt werden. Frühstück war von 5 Hotels in 1 Woche das Umfangreichste und Beste.

Peaceful

Very peaceful, no TVs! it is used for quiet retreats . Very calming place with lovely gardens.
