NAU Palacio do Governador was a great option for my first trip to Lisbon with my daughter! The hotel is beautiful, historic, clean, the room is spacious, the bed super comfortable and the area is super safe with beautiful walkable historical places to go sightseeing like the Belém Tower, the Discoveries monument and the Jerónimos Monastery. There are places to eat nearby with nice views of the water right next to monuments. The hotel is just a 10min bus drive to the center of Lisbon where all the action, shopping and other historical attractions are and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. So my daughter and I had the best of both worlds. Finally, I would give the Front Office Manager Luisa as well as the receptionists Lione, Diogo and Ines a 5 Stars for making our stay so memorable! From the first hello to all the help making reservations for our dinner at the restaurant Descobre nearby (totally recommend!), to helping us with directions when choosing the best and closest beach to go, to preparing a snack bag for our trip with water and treats and all while having the most friendly, patient and positive attitude. Great service! We highly recommend NAU and will definitely stay there again next time we visit to Lisbon!

This place was so good, we stayed twice throughout our weeklong trip in Portugal. From the convenient location (literally minutes from Belem Tower) to the dining options all within walking distance….just perfection! The super friendly and helpful staff made it that much better. The rooms were modern and spacious and the beds were VERY soft and comfortable which, from the week trip we realized was rare. Hahaha We would absolutely stay again!

Hotel is great, clean, ample rooms, great breakfast, only a little hard to find because it has no signs outside, ample free parking if you have your car. Tram 15E passes in front of the hotel and takes you straight to downtown for 3 Euro, no chance to get lost. There is a good restaurant across the street, but if you go, and they offer you extra seafood as an entree, be careful, we were surprised with an Euro 380 bill for 6 big shrimps (langostinos, 1.5 Kg / 3.3 pounds, we were foolish by not asking the cost before ordering ), the rest of the meal was only around 200 Euro for 5 people including drinks.

The hotel standard rooms are good in size and the location of them ideal to be away from the train rails, which are noisy very early during week days. We stayed in standard room for a night and 3 nights at a Double room with the river view, and we preferred the former. Roomier and quieter. Save your money and go for the standard room if you want to rest and be fresh in the morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Top notch. Tiago was incredibly helpful and accomodating. The breakfast buffet is nice, after all is free. Your basic fare...eggs, freshly prepared omelettes and granola, pancakes and fruits. No complain here. And the best part, free parking. I saw Lisbon hotels charging up to 40 euros a day??? Highly recommended hotel.

We were happily surprised to be upgraded to a lovely suite. We thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations, the pool and lounging area as well as the delicious breakfast buffet. We chose to walk along the nearby “river walk” to see the many sites nearby.

Beautiful hotel, with a warm welcome from staff from the moment we arrived. Peaceful and inviting, delicious breakfast and lovely facilities. Beautiful pool and spa with fantastic therapists and divine treatments. Comfortable beds, great shower, and a selection of rooms and terraces to enjoy relaxing in. We enjoyed spending time at the hotel as much as visiting spots in the city. Great location in Belem, by the water and walkable to main visitor spots with easy access to public transport. Close enough to the city centre to easily enjoy all that central Lisbon has to offer but felt like more of a holiday escape by the water with a calmer pace. We felt well taken care of here and would return!

We have stayed in this hotel about five times now and love it each time although I think this time we were a little disappointed. Two things - one is that the indoor pool is usually heated and there was no indication that it wasn't and that is part of the reason for staying there. It was ice cold and no one said that the heating was not on for it. The second was that I had ordered the birthday package which was 30 euros. It wasn't delivered on the day until late afternoon and then only a tiny piece of cake (not like the picture which was a whole little cake!!), the sparkling wine was delivered after I had talked to the front desk. To make up for this, we received a slice of cake and a bottle of sparkling and a note of apology. Whilst I appreciate that this is a 5star hotel, a 7E bottle of fizz and a tiny slice of cake is a little of an overcharge! I wish I had done my own "surprise" as it didn't work out as planned! Oh well....you learn something new every day! Breakfast was great although I think more staff should supervise the spoons falling into the baked beans - yuk! The rooms was very comfortable although the toilet seat was loose as were the faucet fittings. For a 5star it's sadly lacking in a few little touches. But it is a lovely hotel and centrally located for Belem.

This is quite a detailed review to give you a full picture of our (my wife and I) stay at this hotel The bad 1. The air conditioning does not work. They have listed it as a feature but the entire time we were there, it didn’t work. Even after changing rooms two times. The first night we slept sweating since there were no other rooms available. Then we were changed to another room where the tap was wobbling, sockets didn’t work, light bulbs were flickering. They updated us to a suite but again, the AC didn’t work. 2. The hotel is in the best and worst location at the same time. Best since it’s in Belem so a sizable area with good amenities. However, on one side there’s a noisy tram and on the other side a noisy train. If you have to sleep with the windows open like us, you would imagine being awoken to the noise of trains and trams isn’t the best when you’re staying at a resort. Especially at 6 am every morning. 3. The housekeeping staff forgot to put toilet paper and water the next day after housekeeping. 4. The staff at breakfast at times didn’t understand English. Rather than getting someone in staff that spoke English, they just smiled and left. This happened on two occasions. 5. The staff at the reception was EXCEPTIONAL. They tried their best to remedy situations but when things like air conditioners don’t work, I think they should just inform the truth rather than send repairmen to fix it when it won’t. 6. Nice hotel
Lovely hotel, staff very helpful, in a nice position, only bad comment was could hear the tram running early in the morning
