"Once we entered we saw lot of differences than other hotels. Rooms were not clean, front desk area was not clean, elevator was not working to come from 3rd floor to downstairs. The place were it was written snacks to sell, there was no snacks or chip or any food, it was out but there was nail cutter and detergent bar to sell. The front office staff was good and helpful. She tried to give another room but that was also dirty. We did not like smell of the hotel too. Need extreme focus on cleaning everywhere in the hotel, hallway, front areas as well as rooms."
"Very clean room, nice hotel overall. Property is close to the mall area, which is great, but it feels secluded and is quiet. So far, my favorite hotel in this area. "
"Fully equipped kitchen, the hotel is staffed at all times and they are very helpful! Shops across the street and Sebago Brewing restaurant right in the same parking lot. Laundry was clean overall great stay!"
"Room was good for a beach hotel and we had a view of the ocean 🌊. Was asked if we were okay walking up to 2nd floor was a little bit of a climb but worth it. Breakfast was great. "
"I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with our recent stay at your hotel. We traveled from about an hour away to attend a cheer competition, and chose your location specifically because it was conveniently located less than five minutes from the high school. While the exterior of the property initially seemed promising, our experience quickly deteriorated upon arrival. Upon entering the hotel, we were immediately met with an overwhelming odor of harsh cleaning supplies, combined with the loud and chaotic noise coming from the pool area. The manager showed us the pool, which was already overcrowded and clearly above the posted maximum capacity. I had informed him that my son has autism and that access to a safe, manageable pool environment was a key reason we chose your hotel. Given the conditions, we had no choice but to avoid the pool entirely.Unfortunately, the issues did not stop there. The elevator and hallways had a strong odor of urine, which raised immediate concerns about cleanliness and overall maintenance.Breakfast the following morning was equally disappointing. The area was extremely overcrowded, clearly unable to accommodate the volume of guests during the cheer event weekend. The food quality was unacceptable—my omelette was ice cold and still frozen in the middle, rendering it inedible. The waffle station was so backed up that we could not reasonably wait, and the sausage did not appear or taste like real meat. We skipped breakfast next day. "
"We booked a stay at the Old Orchard Inn and had a mixed experience overall. The check-in process was confusing from the start. We initially walked into the building shown in the listing photos—a beautifully restored colonial—but there was no one there. After a few minutes, a staff member arrived and directed us to a different building on the property for check-in. It was then that we learned our room was located in another building, which was noticeably less charming than the one advertised.
The room itself had a few issues. The ceiling fan was missing a blade and couldn’t be used, and there was no temperature control—our only option was to open a window to let in cold air. The bed was fairly comfortable, but oddly set up with just two king pillows and one small pillow. The decor felt dark and dated, with mismatched furnishings, including an old piano that didn’t work. Please note we did not eat at the Inn so new food review.
On the positive side, the location was convenient, parking was easy and plentiful, it seemed like a safe facility, there was a nice looking (closed for the season ) pool area, and both staff members possibly owners, we interacted with during check-in and check-out were pleasant. It’s also worth noting that our stay was during the off-season, which may have impacted the overall experience.
Overall, while there were some positives, the listing could be clearer about accommodations and the property could benefit from some updates and maintenance.
