"We had a great time in Antica Dimora Leone, the House of Treason, which is based on a real story in history. The owner of the house is friendly and helpful during our stay. Every corner of the home has its own history and the room is so comfortable for us. There is a Michelin restaurant nearby called Ancient Pharmacy, they are awesome you must to give it a try. "

"Mario checked us in at Art Gallery B&B after a long walk from Pisa up over the mountain. He let us check in early as we were eager to drop our packs and give our backs a rest. We had a room on the top floor with a gorgeous view of the small village of Vorno with a breathtaking glimpse of some unknown distant craggy peaks. "Accueil déplorable, trois mots et vite vite il a fallu payer, la carte ne passant pas en mode scan, la personne s'est agacée en disant qu'il n'y avait pas d'argent dessus alors qu'il suffisait de l'insérer, de plus elle a été très incorrect avec notre enfant qui courait pour se dégourdir les jambes jusqu'à la chambre en souriant, en lui disant plusieurs fois doucement et en levant les yeux au ciel. "We always prefer to stay with small, local businesses (or homes) on pur travels, and found Villa Martina absolutely excellent on all fronts for this. Daniel & Martina (the hosts) were brilliant in ensuring our stay was all it could be, and so very flexible in attending to some of our unusual requests too."

"This is a pretty good place to stay at. It’s all on one floor but keep in mind it’s up two flights of stairs. On the site it does say that there is no elevator but it doesn’t state clearly that it’s on the second floor. The bathroom was super clean however the floors could use some work there was lots of dirt no carpet. Would stay again if I bring someone to take my suit case up the stairs. The owner was very nice and checks on you throughout your stay. "

"We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It’s a very modest, nice hotel in a very good area where local people live. It’s approximately 5 min walk to the beach. The owner has a deli store next door, so you can buy good food and wine and have dinner in the hotel courtyard. There is no breakfast included. "

"Checking in was extremely frustrating! There was no mention of checking in at a different location, only hours for a front desk. When we were finally able to find the check in it was still quite the process to get to the room. There is a kitchen but no microwave, just FYI. The towels for the shower look and feel like large paper napkins."

"It was a cute place. They apparently have breakfast but couldn't find it in the morning. It may be at the residence next door. When you arrive, there is a bell by the outside gate to push and the owner will come over. I booked a room with 2 beds as it was me and my teenage daughter. the owner said we could only sleep on the one unless we paid an additional $10 EU."

"Overall very clean newly refurbished rooms, unfortunately there is only one bathroom / shower area to be shared by all guests. Potentially you could have eight to ten people accessing the bathroom facilities. There appears to be four different rooms on the floor. If you are staying here you have to phone ahead to arrange the handover of the keys as there isn’t anyone on-site "

"10min walk to the nearest train station to get to other areas of italy such as florence and cinque terre. 15min walk to the tower of Pisa. Clean chalet, friendly & helpful staff, shop/cafe/restaurant on site. Kitchen area equipped with basics for cooking, there is no kettle,toaster, oven or microwave - just a 4 ringed gas hob which i feel could be improved more. Lots of mosquitos so ensure you pack repellant. Towels to hire. Good quality supermarket 10min walk away. I would definitely stay here...
