"An excellent hotel to explore and hike in the Black mountains. Really friendly staff, Adrian the manager was extremely charming and helpful especially with sourcing great wine for us! The rooms are beautiful and very spacious. The grounds are stunning with lovely river walks directly from the hotel. Dogs are very welcome which was great especially as we have an extra large one! We will be coming back"

Every single person we encountered was warm, kind, and welcoming. The dining team were especially lovely and incredibly accommodating, making each meal feel personal and enjoyable. A particularly memorable moment was on the morning of our departure, when the gardener—while tending to the fire—took the time to stop and chat with us about the grounds.
