"This was a lovely relaxing stay in a spacious clean room with a partial view over Lake Maggiore. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet and restful. The breakfast was good value. The staff were lovely, and the hotel was generally kept in good condition and is situated in a great location just up from the railway station. The included Ticino card was great for local travel. A couple of niggles being that the available TV channels were mainly local, and nearby restaurant options for the...

Top Locarno Funicular Station Hotel Reviews

Hotel Lago Maggiore

10/10 Excellent

"A great place to stay being a short walk from the railway station located near the lake. Upper floor rooms especially floor 4 have very good lake views. Reception was very good and helped with lots of good advice to make my stay even better. Breakfast was very good with all the usual on offer. The dining area is spacious and there were always tables available regardless of arrival time. Room was large, well equipped, very comfortable and quiet. Bathroom with large walk-in shower was excellent. Happy to recommend and would use again if back in the area."

Hotel Arcadia Locarno, a Trademark Collection by Wyndham

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Bed comfortable and great shower. We would definitely return."

Seven Town House Boutique Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Hotel is at back of restaurant- took us a few minutes to find when we arrived but after that all good. Very central location, few minutes to trsin station, few minutes to ferries and good breskfast included- croissants, bread, meat, cheese, spreads, yoghurts, cereal and hot drinks all served to table. Nice bar in restaurant too- would stay again"

Hotel Garni Montaldi

8/10 Good

"This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location opposite the station, the only thing that let's it down is the breakfast. Not a very friendly service, don't expect a good morning or advice as to what is available. Stale cake and greasy solidified fried eggs, choose wisely. Plus if you are situated in a room on the floors near the breakfast room don't expect the breakfast staff to be appropriately quiet at 6am."

Boutique Hotel Piazza Grande Locarno

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed in the Modern Double room & although small, it was perfect for two people. Very clean & comfortable with an amazing location on the Piazza Grande. Numerous restaurants located in walking distance. And the hotel has a wonderful restaurant right on the piazza. Although there’s no front desk, the hotel’s virtual contact (Marcello) was quick to correct any issues."
