Locust Holiday Rentals

"The hotel itself is very nice. The lobby and check in staff were great and the Starbucks coffee/sundries shop was good. They had a bar/restaurant open until 10 or 11pm and a big restaurant open for breakfast. We were in room 325, which was updated and very clean, but overlooked the trash cans. FYI, you won’t be able to see the lake from your room unless you are above the 7th floor. We were surprised that the pool closed at 7pm when the stated time on their website is 9pm. There was a heavy police presence in the parking lot which indicated problems with crime. The hotel was nice, but the surrounding area looked like it had its heyday in the 90’s and is now neglected on the Hilton side of the lake, where there were a few unhoused people laying about. Walking over to the other side of the lake where Boardwalk Billy’s is is much better. We highly recommend the BBQ, green beans & Mac & cheese at Boardwalk Billy’s and the ice cream at Ninety’s. Overall we had a good stay and plan to stay again on our next trip to UNC Charlotte, which is VERY close by."

"We had a wonderful stay! Every detail & mishap on our part was taken care of by your amazing staff! Trey at the front desk was courteous, friendly, helpful & knowledgeable at check-in. Breakfast was exceptionally prepared by Mozell! She can make the most scrumptious omelet and it was so fun to watch her flip those omelets effortlessly! The room was clean & quiet! And just one notation for upper management, The Front Desk staff was always standing & pleasant, even though they were visibly fatigued. I was saddened to see when I checked out that they didn’t even have stools to sit on. Those employees are the first point of contact for your guests, please get those hardworking, delightful, gregarious staff members a stool to sit on."
