"Receptionist was downright rude, unfriendly and unwelcoming on our arrival. I have lived in Italy for two years to date and have never encountered someone so rude. The room was clean and tidy, but bore no resemblance to the room shown on the photos on Expedia. Nonetheless, the beds were comfy and the shower was great. Air conditioning worked exceptionally well. "We arrived very early but Leah allowed us to check in immediately and she opened the dining area in case we were hungry. She spent a long time on her phone arranging transportation for us for very early the next morning. The building is old, but the rooms were more than adequate and the beds were comfortable. The outdoor veranda was a perfect spot to enjoy wine and cheese from a nearby grocery store."

"The hotel is centrally located close to all sights by foot. The room was comfortable and modern, the bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. The hotel was everything that you would want, but in particular the staff were welcoming and friendly, including reception and in particular the breakfast team. I would definitely stay here again."

"Excellent choice when traveling to Trieste, especially if you have an early morning outbound flight. Check in was organized, rapid and very cordial. The room was immaculate, well appointed and comfortable; the bathroom had every amenity you could wish for. I arrived about 8:30 pm and thankfully the restaurant was serving until 9:30; the service was very friendly and quick and the food delicious. The reception desk arranged for a taxi at 05:15 am which arrived on time the next morning; the breakfast buffet was already prepared and looked amazing but I only had time for a coffee. I highly recommend Hotel Major and will definitely stay there again when traveling to Trieste. The entire experience was so pleasant and in addition I felt comfortable and safe as a solo female traveler."

"Exceptional service at this luxurious haven in the middle of the city. The team members on reception were fantastic and Alessandra went above and beyond, helping me son arrival with some specific requirements. Excellent breakfast with great coffee, seasonal fruit and healthy yogurts, not just the more decadent options. (If that is your bag, the selection of homemade breakfast cakes did look exceptional, too!) The rooms are gorgeous."
