When I booked this hotel online I did so because of the amenities available. My stay was for leisure not business this matters because one of the receptionists asked me why I would picked this hotel if I were staying there for leisure and not work, I thought that was awkwardโ€ฆ but not as awkward as two fire alarms in the same day the first one at daybreak caught me in the pool/sauna/steam room the second in the shower lol it ainโ€™t football but the ish felt like targeting lol. Even though I knew why I booked there throughout my stay the receptionist wordโ€™s stayed with me so I began to ask myself why I did I book here? I must say that they had excellent in room dining and the Chicken tikka masala was awesome exponentially better than the breakfast which was some mid I prefer not to consume mid so I was okay with skipping breakfast entirely, or one serving was more than enough. I didnโ€™t understand why I had a hot or lukewarm refrigerator in my room and if I had to give the hotel a rating on a scale from 1 to 10 it be a 7.5, would I stay again probably not because I wish that my second hotel had been my first choice. Even if I were traveling for work rather than leisure.

The Aloft is in an absolute PERFECT location! The property is about 25-30 minutes from the city center (via train). The train/tube is a LESS THAN 5 minute walk away from the hotel. Super close to Canary Wharf (loved this area!). The staff was very friendly, accommodating and professional. The premises was clean and quiet, considering how close it is to public transport and the Excel convention center. I would certainly stay here again when in London!

Upon arrival, reception (Kay) were very polite and accomodating. I booked a room for 1, it was on the 4th floor (410), it had a King Bed and was facing north (which looks at the DLR train track, roads and neighbourhood. Everything was fine and clean. I had all amenities, including AirCon however the AC cold setting was not working. After 2 nights, I told reception about the AC and they sent someone over immediately to have it checked and fixed. It wasn't a quick fix so they offered to move me to another room and were very apologetic about the inconvenience. The new room (418) was bigger and nicer - it was facing south towards London City Airport and the docks/waterside which was very pleasant to view (apart from separate construction work going on outside the hotel). I used the hotel's swimming pool - it was lovely however the cleaners need to do thorough check - I found a plaster and a toy. My only issues and suggestions would be: the shampoo and shower gel products provided in the hotel. They are installed on the shower all in these dispensers and while they were working in my first room, the shower gel dispenser was broken and not working in the upgraded room. Also, the quality of the shampoo product was too dry for my hair, it was awful and they do not provide any hair conditioner. I think hair conditioner should be provided as well. The other issue was there being no cutlery provided in the rooms. You have to go down to reception to take it from the snack bar.
