"What was previously a slightly shabby hotel has been renovated to a very high standard. Bedrooms and public rooms are excellent and very good value overnight stay."

"A sign of the times I suppose, no biscuits in the room, receptionist or manageress, totally unwelcomeing, didn't seem to want to be there. Last negative, my wife likes her bacon well done, but the breakfast had cremated bacon. Otherwise: situated close to Lincoln, other members of staff were really nice. Having visited a number of times, the food is American diner style. On the whole, we wouldn' go back unless things changed for the better or the price undercut everywhere else."

"The hotel is looking very tired. We had a standard double room, all that was left when we booked. Perhaps other rooms are better. Our room was small, hot and very dimly lit. A heavy curtain had to be kept closed as we got up as there were no nets and we were overlooked from the car park, and the dim lighting made it difficult to get organised. While clean, the bathroom had peeling paint and loose shower controls. Furniture had chipped paint. The bed was comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. The location in the Cathedral Quarter is excellent. "

"The hotel was perfect for our stay. It was easy to access and peaceful in some lovely grounds. The room was clean and very comfortable. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant as we were attending a funeral in the area. The breakfast was lovely ; there was a great select of juices, cereal, fresh croissants and a nice selection on the menu for a cooked breakfast as well. Would recommend and use again ."

"Disappointed that we had 2 rooms the same booked One was a lovely room with a large tv soft bed The other very hard bed & sparce Got moved to a family room like a dormitory Wifi didn't work at all Reception/restaurant bar was in another building so as Im disabled I had to drive too "

"Hotel Review – Skegness The Royal Hotel Had a really good stay at The Royal Hotel in Skegness. Overall, the place offered everything we needed for a comfortable couple of days away. The car parking was easy, and the hotel sits in a lovely spot close to both the seafront and the Country Park, so getting out for walks was simple. The bar had a nice range of drinks, and the hotel serves both evening meals and breakfast. Breakfast was a classic full English done well, with cereals, juices, and the usual teas and coffees on the side. No complaints at all there. The room itself was spacious and had everything you'd expect — TV with a remote, tea and coffee, toiletries in the bathroom, and even a fan. The windows could be opened too, which was great for a bit of fresh air. The surrounding area was busier than expected for March, especially when the sun came out. Even though it’s still pre‑season, there were plenty of places open in the town centre for food and drinks in the evening. Being so close to the seafront was definitely a bonus. All in all, a very good stay with very little to fault. Would happily recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Skegness."
