I was atop Mt. Chopok, in the Low Tatras Mountains. Chopok is at 2,024 m (6,640 ft) and is the 3rd highest peak of the Low Tatra Range. The views were truly breathtaking from there! Including the meteorological observatory tower covered in snow. But, most of my time in Slovakia was in the High Tatras. The mountains there are even bigger and more epic. I was based in the small city of Poprad and took trips every day. I was in Slovakia in September 2015, too. But this was my 1st time in winter! And with a good camera ;). I also had a wonderful time in Budapest, as well! My very 1st time there. But, while I spent most of my time in the High Tatras I loved being in the Low Tatras! The mountains were absolutely magnificent! And I came to Chopok at a perfect time of day :).

"THE WORST PLACE EVER IN MY LIFE! In the morning I noticed that I got bitten by a bug. But I never knew what it was. I went back to my home and for few weeks I found my skin is so itchy, and I found the bed bugs. This ruined my weeks and it cost a lot to call the expert to disinfect everything at my house. I am 100 percent sure that it came from here because I have never exprienced this before. JUST DONT GO THERE."

"Nagenoeg iedere week overnacht ik in hotels en over het algemeen ben ik positief, maar dit hotel was uitzonderlijk teleurstellend, slechte service tegen een belachelijk hoge prijs, 138,- euro per nacht inclusief ontbijt. Waarschijnlijk omdat er nauwelijks gasten waren was de service bizar slecht, het zal hopelijk beter zijn op drukke dagen. "The time I've spent at this hotel was great.The room was big, beds comfortable, the food was great!The spa area was also very nice, with great views towards the mountain and ski area.Also, the outdoor heated swimming pool was a great feature, I had a wonderful time there during the night, with the snow resting on my head, great attraction.Highly recommend this place!"

"The room and spa facilities were absolutely fantastic! It’s a 5 min walk from the train station so easy to get to. There is a great restaurant about 50m away. The rooms are modern but have a chalet/cabin vibe and the views of the mountain were fantastic! We even had a decorated Christmas tree in our room when we arrived which was a great touch. The spa facilities were also brilliant. Sitting out in the hot tub surrounded by the snow was amazing!"
