"The hotel is about 15 minutes walk into Piazza Napolione. Close to supermarket and MC Donalds. It is clearly affordable, clean and fresh with friendly staff. Perfect location if you have a car with free parking."
"In the title it’s listed as a hotel. It’s a room for rent in someone’s home. Not a bed and breakfast. Outside of the property it is filthy. Garbage, yard is not well kept. White plastic stained chairs. The flags that hang outside of the property are ripped and should be replaced. In my country it’s a disgrace to see a flag like that, The unit smells like mould. My throat and nose burnt from the smell. The inside of the unit is quaint but needs to be aired out. The bedroom sits on the side of a...
"The entire staff was exceedingly friendly and accommodating.
The room was classy and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was amazing and the refreshments offered at check-in was a welcome treat."
"We loved our stay in this beautiful property. Great location, very clean rooms with comfortable beds, welcoming staff, and they offer free parking on-site and a lovely breakfast."
"We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. A few things to note, though:
- the hotel is a good 15m walk from the walls of Lucca, so you need to plan your days as it’s not easy to pop back during the day, especially in the heat of August. Bike hire is extra - 35 euro a day.
- the pool is lovely - comfortable and a lovely space to relax. However, it’s only open from 10am - 7pm which was a shame as it’s not possible...

"Lovely stay at the San Marco. Staff are superb, can’t do enough for you. 10 mins to the old town. Nice pool area that was quiet in the day even in August. Would go back "
"Comfortable modern rooms. Limited facilities. Staff coms a bit hit and miss, eg restaurant booking hadn’t been made when we were told it would be. Make sure to reserve parking early if required. "
"Our family had a fantastic stay at this charming hotel in Lucca! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome—warm, attentive, and always ready to help with local tips or extra towels. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city’s cobbled streets and historic sites. Mornings were a treat thanks to the generous breakfast spread: fresh pastries, fruit, eggs, and delicious Italian coffee that kept us going all day. The location was ideal—quiet yet close to everything, including the city walls and lovely piazzas. It’s rare to find a place that balances comfort, hospitality, and value so well. Whether you’re travelling with kids or just looking for a peaceful getaway, this hotel hits all the right notes. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Lucca!"
"The hotel was above expectations. Exceptional staff on Reception and in the Breakfast Room. The bedroom was superb with the en-suite having extra additions such as the make up mirror. The location is excellent as situated ten minutes from the railway station and five minutes to the walled city. Thank you for a great stay. "
